Agamede of Tevinter
@captusmomentum, I blame you for reminding me that Iāve never drawn my poor, tired lady. She deserves better. XDĀ
mythology aesthetics
AGAMEDE
In Greek mythology, Agamede, also known as Perimede, was a Greek physician acquainted with the healing powers of all the plants that grow upon the earth. She was born in Elis, the eldest daughter of the king of the Epeans, and was married to the first man killed in battle during a war between Elis and Pylos. She bore three children by Poseidon. By the Hellenistic period (c. 4th to 1st centuries BC), Agamede had become a sorceress-figure, much like Circe or Medea. X
@circadian-rhythm replied to your post āTMI tuesday: more about Amata in general? Because I was thinking about...ā
Agamede totally understands the fear of being a young magister outnumbered by horrible people and also people trying to assassinate you. She'd probably want to protect her SO HARD. Though Agamede and Dorian in canon are kinda frosty because he still thinks slavery is a viable needed thing and she sometimes wants to feed him nails for it. But they both want to clean up Tevinter she just haa contingency plans if he decides slavery should still be in the mix.
i imagine that maevaris, dorian and agamede have like, a weird coalition formed bc of the situation with amata and her family and the fact all her stances are all ready pro-shit they want so sheās a baby in peril and an ally that looks suspiciously like a very strained near divorce marriage theyāre only still togetherĀ āfor the childrenā. maevaris and agamede strike me as having the most strain over the slavery topic since maevaris while not pro hasnāt expressed any anti sentiments from what i can tell w/o having read the comics yet. dorian iām not sure about in a post-dai world since he was only pro out of ignorance/indoctrination so post heās likely at least ambivalent to it which is Something at least. and they all agree on other elements so like, thereās that. baby steps.Ā
amata is forever on the side of anything thatās morally closest toĀ āgive everyone a puppy and a hugā bc shEāS A GOOD PERSON WHO JUST WANTS EVERYONE TO BE OKAY. thereās def been many a night where the 3 adults just like, sit in near silence drinking bc Shit, this grim af and Stressful. none of them want to have a 12-13 yo involved in this but like, her life is in danger even after she can transfer her vote which means she still in this shit regardless.

Legit Mel always appears. I also realized that since Amata is in Tevinter she could get adopted by Agamede who is an oc that I haven't written about before. She's basically a politician in Tevinter who is fighting for slave rights against the Magisterium.
Yeah Agamede sounds EXACTLY like the type of person sheās turn to for help immediately after the murders. Sheās probably like one of the 3 1/2 people in tevinter who she could be Confident didnāt plan the hit and to her doesnāt live slavery = Very Good Person so. looks like Agamede just gain a daughter and ally in the magisterium????????????
This may come as a surprise to some, but female doctors have existed for a pretty long time. Could we find a lot of information on the earliest ones? No! Did we do an episode anyway? Yes! Join us as Savannah takes Jessica through six biographies of lady doctors who saved lives even though lots of men tried to stop them. Because...idk only men should be able to do things? ⢠⢠#suchnastywomen #nastywoman #podcast #historicalwomen #womenshistory #doctor #femaledoctor #meritptah #agamede #agnodike #rufaidaalaslamia #trotaofsalerno #hildegard
