I just saw a post about a black girl stating how it took years for her to love her skin color and it fucking hurts to understand that for her life time, being black was not celebrated like it was for being white. I can't even imagine what it would be like to have immediate prejudice against me just because the way I was born let alone the pride one should feel in the body they were given being stripped from little girls and boys alike solely because their sweet honey cocoa skin was once part of a twisted cycle of the lack of humanity. How could humans be so cruel? We have all the proof via history we've documented that humans can make their lives anything and the way we have chosen to take this responsibility is outrageously hateful. I want to kiss babies' feet and sing to them the beauties of the world and inside them, the possibilities of the world and what lies beyond it. This place we've created could be better; it's high time we take a look at our egos and reevaluate what is it that makes being alive in this very moment worth living, giving reason and purpose behind every peaceful smile. I am just one in a million voices, but one voice helps create the millions.
