Can we please leave age shaming in 2025? Don’t bring it into the new year, I beg you!

sure, I do agree people younger than 9 SHOULD NOT be online without parental controls

But I don't agree with the fact that people should exclude screenagers (11-17 who grew up online) because a lot of them, including myself grew up in homophobic and/or toxic environments which are not safe for them

Plus, most of the screenagers are more aware of internet scams than most adults so it doesn't really make sense that people try to age shame them

I feel like no one talks enough about how much age shaming actually affects children and young people in general. What do you mean you're bothered by someone not being born earlier? Are you a snowflake??

I was age shamed when I was younger and despite my best attempts to accept myself, it ended up sending me into a state of guilt and insecurity so strong I often just rotted in bed, staring at the wall and daydreaming of a life if I was born earlier. Eventually, it got so bad I developed age progression as a coping mechanism. “And I was so young when I behaved 25” /ref. So much so that I often considered starting to gaslight myself into believing I was born earlier, worldbuilding an entire backstory and telling that instead. But it wouldn't work and I knew it because it wouldn't make me any older, and because I wasn't born back then, there would be lots of mistakes.

It pains me to see today's kids get shamed, being told "Lmao wtf you were born in 2015?? Imagine being 10 years old 💀" like... it's not your problem??

Even today, I still grieve and yearn for a life in earlier generations even though there was no possibility to change that either way.

PLEASE let's not make life any harder than it already is for the future and younger generations. They deserve so much better no matter how annoying they might be.

PS: If anyone else is struggling with this, I know it's hard. But what I would suggest is try your best to make memories of what you have now. Build your own "retro" aesthetic or whatever you're into. Because in a few years you're gonna look back and think about all the memories you made, instead of wasting that time on wishing to have better memories.

This girl is one of the most rudest and immature person that one can ever come across on Tumblr. On top of that, she is even racist to other races , bullies people on the basis on their colour and does age shaming. She did all of this under one of her moot's post where she was shaming people on the basis of their interests, shaming them on the basis of their age, was proud for calling out races , when the conversation was not even about races, and did other horrendous acts.

This is the point where she started shaming people on their skin colour, calling them " white mayo monkey". One of her friends, tried to make her understand that the statement sounded very racist on her part but she didn't listen. She became defensive of her statement saying " IDC". Even if whites were never oppressed but in an era where such terms can be hurtful to one or the other person, she chose to speak about on their colour.

She didn't stop here. When one another person tried to stop her and asked to acknowledge her mistakes , she went on saying she will do whatever she wants.

He/she asked her to acknowledge where they went wrong but still the former person had a lots of wrong words to unlease yet.

There she went with her sick mentality saying she will call out whenever tf she wants and was not sorry for what she did.

She even bullied age shamed people and targetted their interests for no reason.

When we all are trying to get rid of such acts in this modern and educated society, people like her come up and do horrible acts by degrading other races and not even acknowledging their own mistakes.
