“There’s something about being in a plane, alone, flying high above the world. ... It gives you this false sense of freedom. One so lovely you never want to let it go.”
Cleaned my desk yesterday, computer screen and keyboard included.
Something about having a clean desk really makes me want to type. I imagine I’m not the only one who feels this way, heheh. Man, I haven’t really written anything more than emails in a long, long time.
So what to type about? Hmmm. Well, my most recent semi-obsession is Killzone: Shadow Fall as some of you may have noticed. Ironic since the real obsession didn't kick in until after I’d finished it.
Two years late, I know. I loved the first Killzone for the PS2 and finally finished Killzone 2 last year, Killzone 3 a few weeks ago and Shadow Fall yesterday.
This isn’t a review, by the way, only an opinion since I’m looking for an easy excuse to type something.
Let’s just say I really enjoyed the game. My favorite of the Killzone series. Beautiful graphics and I really liked how I could listen in on some of the conversations the Helghast had if you snuck up on them. Thought that was a nice touch.
And, I know I’m not the only one who had mixed feelings about the ending. I already knew from spoilers online that Lucas Kellan was going to die, just not how. Said-how made sense, I suppose and in a way I did like it, especially the ‘bonus mission’ after the ‘credits’ started to roll. It was very how do you say, ‘final’ and a little sad/intense, which I liked. I’m not a seasoned gamer by any means but the ending had a different atmosphere than what I’ve been accustomed to.
On the other hand, it disappointed me. I’d had hope that Kellan and Agent Echo would get more story time together. I wasn’t looking for romance so much, but I found their relationship/partnership interesting. Not to mention Kellan going out without uttering a single word irritated me. I understood he’d been taken by surprise and shot so I didn’t mind the lack of physical resistance so much. Still, he could’ve said something, couldn’t he?
I’ve noticed that there is no shortage of those who don’t like Shadow Marshal Lucas Kellan very much. Yeah they probably could’ve developed him a bit more, but I did like him. I guess I have one of those imaginations that appreciates fan fiction, though. I tend to take what’s put on screen and make up my own versions of things, which rapidly builds attachment and fondness where others see nothing. Oh well.
I can only hope the next installment in the series keeps on improving. And, hey, if they want to bring back Kellan and Echo, I won’t argue... Unless they ruin it. Then I’ll argue. Until then...
Yay I scribbled something other than a work email. Maybe I’ll finally make good on my constant intention to write something every day, hehe.
