" Though I see you don't go by agent any longer. "
[text] Revekka? [text] I was wondering when you'd have time for me to come down to your office. [text] I just want to sort out a few things.
[text] I'll be available in about.... five minutes
[text] then I'm all yours

Revekka's been paying attention to the numbers on her wrist since she was a child. She was always fascinated by the numbers, counting down, from the moment you were born.
That's partly why she became a doctor. She studied those numbers to try to figure them out. She wanted to know how it knew. How did those numbers know that your One was out there?
Her numbers were dropping rapidly. She'd joined SHIELD, because they'd offered her an opportunity to research the numbers. She'd been given test subjects and research facilities, and anything she could want.
The anticipation of those dwindling numbers.... it set her heart on fire. She knew... she was going to meet the person (for her research had shown that soulmates didn't have to be male/female, it was all about chemical compatibility, she believed) who she would spend the rest of her life with.

Five minutes. Rev almost wanted to dash to the loo to freshen up, but then she realized... it probably wasn't a good idea. She needed to stay here. Here was where it was going to happen. And here was where all her patients were.

A woman burst into Revekka's space, a huge smile on her face. "I've got an idea!"
"Agent Sterling?" Anayeli had looked down the line of desks on the floor, but had no luck in finding Sterling, so she'd taken to looking in the break room instead. She was carrying a box of cupcakes-- which were, actually, for Barton-- and a bag of gifts, with one particular gift-wrapped box in her hands. When she found Sterling, she couldn't help the astonished look on her face at what he was wearing. She wondered for a moment if maybe she was walking up to Galoyan, but she could make out the slight difference in the features well enough. This was definitely Sterling. "Oh, Christ, I guess it is a Christmas miracle," she let slip before Ana had a chance to realize what she was saying. "Um, sorry, that was rude-- just, here. This is for you."
"Nono," Sterling laughed. "It's not rude. I--" But he stopped as she held out the gift and he looked genuinely surprised by it. "Thank you." He said, taking the gift and unwrapping it. The watch was beautiful. Too beautiful. "Agent Rojas, I can't accept this. This is far too nice."
Despite Sterling's income, which was generous to say the least like most agents, even the desk ones, for the nature of their jobs and what is required of them, he still often had the mindset of someone who worked as a bank teller who worked with a sea of other people who could barely make rent. It was strange being reminded that this was no longer the world he lived in.
@agentrojas
Hey--
Do you know how long they make people wait out here?
Anayeli dialed Revekka's number, waiting for her to pick up. She was still sitting in front of the TV, even if the repetitive footage was making her feel nauseous. When the line picked up, she let out a breath she didn't realize she had withheld. "Revekka? I'm sorry, I know it's late-- you're ah, are you at the office right now?" She almost felt stupid for calling.
Revekka was sitting with Alex, curled up and watching a film, complete with hot chocolate and popcorn. She wasn't expecting her phone to ring, and she picked up, after checking the caller ID. "No, I'm with Alex tonight. What's wrong?"
