Adaptability is a perk...right? {Closed}
Arlette Aldridge still felt awkward around SHIELD and was still working as a mere temp hoping to start a bigger job one day soon. The words in her contract stated merely that she would preform entry level jobs until she met the qualifications for advancement to a higher position. The person who signed her contract implied she was being hired on for her determination, fearlessness, and almost supernatural ability to not only find out what she wanted to know but maintain steady, reliable information networks. The liar also hinted that she could expect to start actual training relatively soon.
The signing of her contract had been eight months ago but the brunette was still working as a temp. Instead of making use of her talents they regulated her to preforming gopher jobs for those who outranked her. Sure, she was building up her own little networks within SHIELD (call it an insatiable curiosity to know) but that was just within the building. When she was working as a part-time freelance journalist her channels spanned a city. It was really starting to feel like they hired her to trick her into signing a Nondisclosure Agreement and that they had no real plans for her. Even if it meant two jobs and risking life and limb, some days Arlette wished she would have just pursued the journalism career.
The current assignment hand off to her by her bosses was to spend two weeks working with Agent Jasper Sitwell's as his personal secretary. Careful to poke around the office gossip pool, Arlette concluded that he would be a fair boss and nowhere near as neurotic as some of the other agents she had been assigned to. She also picked up that his secretary was a good woman who worked hard and was also up to date on her work with an easy to follow filing system. Thankfully, she would not be required to complete years of backlogged work-that unfortunately happened three times so far-in a matter of days. Hopefully, this job would be the boost she needed to finally start real training for something bigger.
Straightening her clothes (basic black skirt and blazer, nice white shirt, blood red tie, and black pumps), Arlette knocked on the door to his office and waited to be granted entrance.
