1. Their physical weak spots

He banged his left shoulder up quite badly taking a fall a few years back. While he’s regained full functionality and mobility, it remains rather tender.

2. Their emotional/moral weak spots

If you say he’s the reason his parents are dead, you can see the light leave his eyes.

Then he’ll punch you.

3. Scars or painful spots

A deep scar across the bridge of his nose. Light scars riddled about his body. His left shoulder tends to get sore around wintertime.

He smokes, but you can only really tell in October. That’s the only time he’ll come to school carrying the scent of cigarettes on his clothes and in his breath. Otherwise, he’s very conscientious about maintaining a tidy, well-kept appearance, and that includes not smelling like a pack of Seven Stars.

He was almost struck by lightning at a young age. More recently (in his first year of high school), he almost drowned after getting sucked into an undertow.

Akito’s very first competitive kendo loss was in his first year of middle school. Extremely nervous and eager to perform as his team’s senpo, he managed to botch the momentum he had created during his match by tripping over himself and falling flat on his face before surrendering the last point.

The sound of thunder disturbs him, and he tenses up considerably during thunderstorms.

He’ll go out of his way not to use proper honorifics in conversation with anyone who isn’t a teacher or his family.

Akito will hold a grudge for years, letting it fester and rot in his conscious until it creates a deep-seated hatred for whoever he harbors it towards. However, he’s never actually held a serious grudge against anyone before.

Hold eye contact with him and do nothing but smile. He can’t keep a straight gaze. Akito’s has more than a few tsundere tendencies…

Akito has a very strong mental fortitude, but in October that all seems to fall apart. He becomes incredibly irate, defensive, evasive, and prone to blowing up on anyone who crosses him. If you dare to follow him on his birthday, you might catch him at a shrine with tears in his eyes…

Akito Shinkai isn’t his real name.

He changed it to escape his past.

Too many to count. If you get close enough for him to open up at all about them, the one at the top of his list is that he’ll never get to celebrate another birthday with his parents.

Akito is actually a very old OC of mine! His original incarnation never changed his name or was good at martial arts or any of that – he was a weak, cowardly, bitter teenager who was driven to a breaking point in his first year of high school when a close friend died. It changed him for the worse; he learned to fight dirty, became a delinquent, and hurt many, many people from that point onward.

Also, in most other timelines his weapon of choice is a baseball bat.

21. Turning points in their life

Learning kendo changed him for the better as a child, quelling his fiery disposition and instilling some much needed discipline in his persona. However, he took a big step back when his parents died, resulting in the current product on the shelf.

22. People who’ve influenced them greatly

His grandfather, his parents, and his junior high school kendo club’s manager. Hmm…
