@luciddreamsx starter for Alexander Lightwood
There were a million situations where Magnus Bane and Alexander Lightwood could have ended up together, in fact in the warlock’s head he had assumed that after everything that had happened between them that they would get together but that wasn’t the case. They were in fact miles from that. But that hadn’t stopped Magnus doing some thing as selfless as giving his magic to his father to save those silly little Nephelim because even though he didn’t have Alec, he couldn’t also lose Clary, Jace, Simon or even Isabelle. No he refused too.
But that was something that Alexander Lightwood didn’t know and he had warned all of the shadowhunters and vampire that did know not to breath a word to the Lightwood elder. No he didn’t want to be pitted because of it. He didn’t want the Lightwood to come to him because of the sacrifice. Magnus Bane was worth a lot more than that. In fact he felt hurt and betrayed just thinking about Alec’s last words to him. “What do you want me to give up my life for you?”.
The blue eyed male had a lot to think about and when he had thought about it, he had decided that they weren’t going to work together. The warlock had been soul destroyed but he couldn’t leave the rest of the people he loved out in the cold merely because the person he loved wouldn’t love him back, the warlock couldn’t be that selfish.
So he was being selfless.
But one of the conditions, Isabelle had agreed to keeping the secret about Magnus not having his Magic was that he had to train how to fight, which Magnus was more than happy to agree to - after all he didn’t want to be someone helpless. He didn’t want to have to be saved by his friends and he certainly did not want to look weak in front of a certain raven haired lightwood male even if he had been rejected.
Which was why Magnus Bane stood in his loose fitting top in the institute with his jogging bottom and very little jewelry on if any because that was what the weapons master had suggested.
“Isabelle are you sure this is wise, we could have easily trained in my apartment instead of here”
The warlock shrugged his shoulders and the black haired male, Magnus couldn’t help but admire how much she looked like her brother, they were like the male and female version of each other which held so much appreciation for Magnus - but she was no Alexander Lightwood. Magnus had kept his distance from this place for too long only doing the odd tasks when his friend had asked and never took any of the credit for it.
He had already lost his job as high warlock and his magic to his father. There was very little left for him to loose and he really didn’t want to be stripped bear in front of the person he loved especially when that person didn’t love him back.
“It will be fine Magnus, beside I train better on my home ground, how just wait here. I had sticks for us to train with, I think it’s the perfect weapon for you to learn with first. Just let me grab them”
Izzy smiled her teeth white towards the warlock as she gripped his hand and squeezed before she turned on her tail and ran off to get where ever she said she was going. Magnus took in a deep breath and began to stretch out, he was feeling all wound up being this close to Alexander without any intention of seeing the shadowhunter, because he had no intention of running into him lately. His fragile little being couldn’t take it. In the moments where he wanted to call the Lightwood he had to take a drink - it was like a personal decision he had made, which made him drink a lot of nights, even if it weren’t as his usual locals like the hunters moon.
