As far as deaths go, he wasn’t exactly impressed with how he went out. It was, like most deaths in this line of work, stupid, unexpected, and very brief, A sliver of a second gone horribly wrong. Stabbing pain for an instant, and a whole lot of nothing where the rest of his chest should be. A perfect hole just left of center. Yikes! It’s what he gets for going up against a fella with super strength, though, he wasn’t exactly expecting the fist to go straight through his heart.

For better or for worse, it was over in an instant. At least, the dying part wass. The rest of Badger was too stubborn to go anywhere just yet. So. Here he was, having an out-of-body experience. Which means he got to watch.. the aftermath, as a shade of his former self.

3:14 AM. Her muscles are still rigid from the intense nightmare — one that had woken her up in sweat and tears. Kara closed her eyes tightly, trying to will away the trace images behind her eyelids, as she had been attempting for the past fifteen minutes. No use. The super found herself getting off her bed to wander into the living room, completely dark except for the TV playing a show. The lights bounced around as Kara knelt in front of the couch, teary eyes focusing on the half-asleep lying on it. Her lip curled as another cry attempted to sound itself, and she buried her face, halfway against Cole’s arm and halfway against the couch cushion. Her shoulders shook silently with the effort of trying not to disturb the other.
