myth moodboards: agrona
welsh goddess of war and death
requested by anon
your daily reminder that Agronā (or Aeron) the supposed Welsh god of slaughter and carnage, likely is not a canonical digure in the welsh pantheon. She does not appear in the Mabinogion, she has no story associated with her outside of the Mabinogion, I've yet to find a single piece of poetry mentioning her. Continuing on from that, in my copy of the Dictionary of Celtic Mythology by James MacKillop he claims that the god is actually a man and called Areon
And when you look up Aeron
No mention of any primary text the figure is sourced from, no story, no details, nothing. Compare that to the segment on Branwen
If this was an actual mythical figure, shouldn't there be something? And I know they're not the most reliable, but even Wikipedia makes it clear they're not 'real' and unlike any other site I've searched up, has sources
If someone out there does miraculously have a source that argues the opposite I'd love to see it, but as far as I'm concerned, this Agrona or Aeron is not apart of the canonical Welsh pantheon
Agrona: YOU ARE TOO LATE ARTHUR, I AM FORKLIFT CERTIFIED!

An item sheet commissioned by @agrona for her character. Thanks for your understanding during this! Her character has some rad items and weapons, they were a lot of fun to work on.
If you’re interested in commissioning me, click here and fill out this form! I’ll be a little slower in this back end of December for holiday reasons, as a quick headsup!
