Home made some cactus fruit syrup for agua fresca! 🌵🌵🌵🌵 Xoconostle are cheap as heck rn (they're definitely in season when you drive around you can see all the fruits are bright red on the cacti around here) so I bought like 6 huge ones for like $2.80. The cashier accidentally rang it up as passionfruit and it woULD HAVE BEEN $22 IF I DIDN'T NOTICE LIKE WTF MAN. 1) Why are weird fruits so expensive? And 2) Why is prickly pear so cheap? They're so good, but I hate when fruit has so many seeds, like guavas too, it just doesn't feel right to be swallowing so many bits that size. (But sometimes you just don't have a choice when you get a whiff of ripe guava and just have to put the whole thing in your mouth and nom!) Other succulent-grown fruits like dragonfruit have bite-able seeds? Or even pomegranate seeds can be bitten through! Idk, man. Anyway I have a whole bottle of seedless syrup now. The fruits were soooo juicy I didn't even have to add water when I cooked them, and now I get to enjoy my cotton candy naturally neon pink drink. 🍇🍇🍇🍇 [He/They/Who] #pricklypear #xoconostle #nopal #cactuspear #cactusfruit #aguafresca #homemade #selfie #me #drink #summerlyfe #cali #opuntia #pink (sa Santa Barbara County, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFQp-Mzgl9x/?igshid=1ddhcho5du4kd
