Monster Encyclopedia

Welcome to the Monster Encyclopedia, here you will find several monsters/creatures in alphabetic order.

Some of them (will be precise) are going to be ones that I invented or even ones you did. If you have one that you invented, just message me or an ask will be enough, but don’t forget to mention everything about it!

You are free to use this encyclopedia but don’t forget to give credit of where you found the creatures/monsters you used!

A

Abonde (France)

Type: Fairy. 

Habitat: Home. 

Dame Abonde is a good fairy. Since middle age, she visits pregnant women and participates in dinners given at the birth of the children to fill them with donations. 

With its procession of mayors, matrons, and other fairies, she visits houses of the poor to bring them happiness and cleanliness. Their invisibility to mortal eyes doesn’t stop the preparation of a marvelous table and a lavish dinner in their honor. The only trace of their visits, yellow wax drops often found on the fur of animals. This wax is, as said, from candles that the Dames were carrying during their annual visit. Besides the benefits conferred on the household in a case where dinner and cleanliness are in Rendez-Vous, these fairies had for praxis to leave gifts to the children. 

Aezhraouant (Britain)

Type: Leprechaun. 

Habitat: Hills, grass. 

Aezhraouant also called Aézraouant or Aerouant (in this case, he is either a dragon, meteor or pyroclastic flow), is a wicked leprechaun. He hides in the tall grass and shows himself most of the time under the aspect of a shiny object, waking lust. The unfortunate to come close and take possession of it will find themselves transported in a Palace of crystal to work there for the rest of his life.

Agaisse (France)

Type: Fairy. 

Habitat: Forest. 

Not far from Corcieux in France, in the forest of Rapaille, of a scream Dame Agaisse announces her visit. This cry, close to a scream of the bird Pia, is the reason for her name. At her call and like every year, humans, beasts, and plants rush to honor her. Only some oaks, too beautiful and proud, does not bow in front of her. This will cause them to become small, misshapen, curved and hunchbacks. 

Agustines (France)

Type: Caller. 

Habitat: Water. 

The Agustines, or Augustines, are creatures of white silhouettes that wander in the night around fountains. They mainly haunt the ones in Augustins in Limoux (France), attentive ears can hear their mournful psalmodies. 

Aker (France)

Type: Animal. 

Habitat: Home, ground. 

Aker (or Akerbeltz), the black goat, has for a long time taken the throne in every breeding of the Basque country, protecting the herds from the fury of the elements, the Christian God coming, they refuge underground, reassemble the banished geniuses like him and storm above the inhabitants. Since they call him Devil of witch haunting the Akelarre (tongue of the goat) to hold the Sabbath. 

Albion & Bergion (France)

Type: Giant.

Habitat: Unknown.

Albion and Bergion, two names for the heads of this giant bicephalous with thousand arms. He blocks the way of Hercules (Heracles), in the Crau delta. Our hero empties his quiver in a pure loss when his father Zeus rains a lot of pebbles on the giant who dies buried.

Alpus (France)

Type: Giant.

Habitat: Unknown. 

Provencal Giant having given birth to three other giants, Garlaban, Ruissatel and Bec Cornu, fallen mud flakes from his boots.

betty e james, em seus 17 anos, não tem uma gota de tinta em seu corpo, mas isso não faz com que eles se separem, os dois acreditam que seu amor é mais forte por causa disso, até surgir uma ruiva na cidade para as férias de verão e, enquanto betty viajava, rouba james para ela. com o fim de agosto próximo e betty retornando a sua cidade, ela descobre o que houve, aterrorizada com a possibilidade de james ter encontrado sua alma gêmea, apenas para se enraivecer quando descobre que, mesmo sem nenhuma tatuagem no corpo, ele continuou com agustine durante todo o verão.

quando acreditava que as coisas não poderiam ficar piores, ela encontra agustine por acaso, o que gera uma discussão acalorada, até que percebessem tarde demais que estavam muito próximas, com a surpresa de um beijo agressivo, o mundo estagnou enquanto um formigamento surgia nas costas de betty e no braço de agustine.

Saint Augustine of Hippo delivers from the 4th century. The subject is hunting heretics, yet he stands firm, saying, "How then by a lie shall I rightly be able to prosecute lies? Or is it by robbery that robberies, by sacrilege that sacrileges, and by adultery that adulteries are to be prosecuted? 'But if the truth of God shall abound by my lie,' are we too to say, 'Let us do evil that good may come'?"

It's like oxygen to me. Entering these dark times I am still convinced society is ready to deprecate grand swaths of social behavior. In fact, the rebellion of government against the fetters of Constitution and the public demanding unprincipled action, are an acknowledgement of this impending change and the presence pressure. If we can stop the wars, the new wars and implement progressive change we may see it on our lifetime. Augustine walked an amazing line.

Notice my pandemic hair style. I'm going to look like an old testament prophet by the time our incompetent government gets it under control.

       Written in a time when Christianity was not yet firmly established as the dominant religion uniting all of Europe, The City of God is a text which sought to formulate a valid argument against anti-Christians of the time. Whether Augustine meant to or not, he also created a text that was one of the first to formulate Christine theological doctrine as well as philosophical document that would become the first in a long legacy. While Augustine covers a wide variety of topics, he consistently comes back to one idea in his explanations regarding the differences between the two cities and the differences of good and evil. This idea is one in which he bases much of his arguments and which is of importance to the doctrine contained within the text. The idea itself is that the ‘will’ is the central feature which determines whether or not a person turns away from god or not, away from the natural state. The problems that lies in this belief is this notion: that God, while knowing all the future outcomes, placed “free will” in man to determine his own actions knowing the eventual uncontrollable fall of some of his creation. Free will indeed.

Early on in The City of God, Augustine sets forth to create a justification for the actions of God in his relations with man and a justification of the notion of a one true God himself. While the reconciliation of pagan believers with the Christian God takes primacy in Augustine’s work, the earliest doctrine of the Christian faith is set out, it seems, almost accidentally. For early peoples faced with the notion of a “One God,” there were certain principles contained in Christianity that were wildly different than prevailing pagan beliefs. Perhaps as a tactic to find some sort of point of convergence between Christian beliefs and pagan, Augustine relates the Platonists with Christians. Since Christian thought at this time was not yet extensively formulated and was open to interpretation, Augustine sought to help explain Christian beliefs through the use of pre-existing philosophical theories. Incorporating Platonist thought into the new Christian doctrine he was writing saved much time in the formation of ideas, but also must have served the dual purpose of reconciling pagan beliefs with Christian. When Augustine says that the Platonists believed that “God is the author of all things, the illuminator of truth, and the lavish bestower of happiness” he includes previous beliefs to explain his new faith.  To further the notion of his one god, Augustine also infused the Platonist notion of “forms,” shortcutting his way in explaining and forming doctrine. This was a useful way of saving time and advancing the Christian belief system. Saying that “the matter of the whole world-its shapes, qualities, and ordered movements; its elements arranged from heaven to earth and whatever bodies that are in them-cannot exist except though him who exists simply,” Augustine continues this trend.
