annie is an anomaly that was a failed experiment of the hospital. now they're left with no memories, no direction, and not really much they can do except continue to work as an "intern" for the place that made them like this.
most of their coworkers are wary of it. they act strange, at best, and incredibly unnerving at worst. on the outside they seem almost mindless, like they're on autopilot. nobody can seem to remember when or how they started working at the hospital.
they don't really understand boundaries or relationships very well and they have trouble expressing affection. it's easily confused. they're constantly sleepy and have to chug absurd amounts of coffee to avoid passing out or going into a state like a headbanger.
it doesn't understand why anomalies are seen as bad, it doesn't even really register that it is one. all it understands is that other animals seem to get scared when they show their tentacles, so they don't.
annie is a black-tailed jackrabbit!! their anomalous features are based off of a virus some rabbits can get called shope papillomavirus, which causes cancerous growths that look like "horns" or.... TENTACLES..
it's 4'11 but standing on its tentacles it can be up to 8' tall
(be careful looking up pictures of spv, shope papillomavirus could be pretty disturbing for some!! not too bad, but if you get grossed out super easily just be prepared.)
