annie is an anomaly that was a failed experiment of the hospital. now they're left with no memories, no direction, and not really much they can do except continue to work as an "intern" for the place that made them like this.
most of their coworkers are wary of it. they act strange, at best, and incredibly unnerving at worst. on the outside they seem completely mindless, like they're on autopilot. nobody can seem to remember when or how they started working at the hospital.
they don't really understand boundaries or relationships very well. it's easily confused. they're constantly sleepy and have to chug absurd amounts of coffee to avoid passing out or going into a state like a headbanger.
it doesn't understand why anomalies are seen as bad, it doesn't even really register that it is one. all it understands is that other animals seem to get scared when they show their tentacles, so they don't.
