~I don't want to be a princess. I just want to be your sister.~ Happy Friday, people! #ahappymum #sisters #alwaysandforever
It's been four years since we had our last outdoor photo shoot. Yup, four long years. During which I got pregnant, we had our third child, the big girl went to primary school and we moved into our happy home. It's really true that the days are long but the years are short, and as morbid as it sounds, I sometimes wonder how many more years of family bliss I can get to enjoy. It won't be forever, right? So yup, that makes me be reminded of how I shouldn't sweat over the small stuff and to always remember how blessed I already am. Cherish. Just cherish. P.S. We just did a casual shoot this month and finally have some outdoor portraits as a family of five. Can't wait to share more! #ahappymum #photoshoot #familyphotography #fouryearsago #feelslikeyesterday
Chefs in the making! The girls are extremely excited that they will be taking part in the Play-Doh Chef Junior workshop at Waterway Point next week! Can't wait to see what dishes they are going to whip up. Woohoo! On a side note, I love how Play-Doh keeps the kids occupied and at the same time encourages them to be creative and imaginative too. Never mind the mess or that the colours eventually get mixed, it's still a great way for the kids to play, explore and have fun. For those who are keen, the Play-Doh Chef Junior workshops will be held at Punggol Waterway Point L1 Village Square from 17 to 23 July. Spend a minimum of $30 at Waterway Point from 17 to 22 July or $30 on Play-Doh products at major toy stores from 1 to 22 July to participate. Stand a chance to win Toys R Us merchandises, Waterway Point gift cards and other attractive prizes worth up to $10,000. #ahappymum #playdoh #hasbro @hasbrosingapore #playdohjuniorchef #funforkids #mediadrop
It doesn't take much to keep me happy, Mama. I don't need a lot of toys, I don't need good food, I don't need you to keep thinking of how to teach, occupy or entertain me. All I need is your undivided attention. For you to look me in the eye when I talk to you. For you to put away all distractions and just focus on me. For you to truly be there with me, not just be beside me. It won't be along before I grow up, Mama. And then, you can have all the time in the world to do the things you want. For now, let's just be together, shall we? #ahappymum #asahmstory #reflection #motherhood #daysarelongyearsareshort #cherish #growingupwaytoofast #whileyoustillneedme #blessedtohaveyou
"To the young and to the not so old, I say, look at that horizon, follow that rainbow, go ride it." ~ LKY Happy start of the week, people! #ahappymum #rainbow #happystart #quoteoftheday
The kids were so excited to see themselves on TV tonight! Yup, Channel NewsAsia's Bright Start, Bright Sparks features @heguru.education and shares why right brain training can be beneficial to young children. Here are some excerpts and to watch the full episode, tune in to CNA tomorrow (8/7) 6:30pm or Monday (10/7) 1:30pm. For our detailed review on Heguru Education and personal experience, go to http://bit.ly/2tUrIF4. P.S. Check out the last part where the kids shouted "I love Heguru!". Made me lol! #hegurueducation #heguru #cna #channelnewsasia #ahappymum #brightstartbrightsparks #rightbraindevelopment
"Sisters are loving, Sisters are kind. Sisters are precious, And vey hard to find. I will protect and care for you, always and forever. I love you, dear sister." We came up with this sisters pledge one night when the girls had a squabble. Instead of chiding or punishing them, I asked them to hold hands, look at each other and recite this pledge, followed by giving each other a big bear hug. Yup, it works for us and helps to remind these two just how blessed they are to have each other. No matter how badly they fight or argue, the one constant is that they've never stopped loving each other, not even for a second. That is what siblings are for, isn't it? I hope you will always have each other's back and never forget how precious this sisterly bond is, even when you grow up, my dears. #ahappymum #siblings #sisters #bestgiftever #neverturnoneachother #iloveyousis
With a hubby who works late, the kids and I are alone at home on most evenings. I would always ask the girls to help me look after the baby brother when I am going to cook. Some days it's hard because he would be banging on my kitchen door and crying like it's the end of the world, but some days we just manage to do it without too much cries or whines. This evening was an in between kind of situation but thankfully I had prepared the soup in the afternoon and the rest of the dishes didn't take too long. Tonight's dinner was stir-fried beef with ginger and spring onions, steamed golden promfret in teochew style and the kids's favourite ABC soup (cooked with a whole chicken and added in corn too because we love corn!). We had a hearty dinner and I was looking forward to surprising the hubby thinking that he would be coming home late, only to have him text at the last minute that he would not be returning tonight. *sob* yup, it happens. But hey, good news is the kids and I have our lunch settled for tomorrow. Yippee yay! P.S. I always cook a huge pot of soup because not only do we love soup, I also like to leave some for the next day. Makes things much easier when I can just whip up noodle or macaroni soup in a matter of minutes. The girls finished five bowls of this soup just tonight alone! P.P.S. No, I don't always manage to cook dinner. In fact, we had to order Food Panda yesterday and nope, I'm not too guilty about it. #ahappymum #ahappymumcooks #homecooked #lifeofasahm #whatweatetoday
