Remember when SomiSomi was inside the Glendale Galleria a few years ago? Now it’s back, but at the Americana. It hasn’t changed that much since the Glendale Galleria days. I don’t think they offer soft serve samples but I didn’t ask since I ordered from a kiosk. The other SomiSomi locations did offer samples.
There are six soft serve ice cream flavors with toppings and taiyaki (fish-shaped waffles with different fillings). You can also get the ice cream and taiyaki together.
A small cup of soft serve is $4.50, very reasonable, and it includes a premium topping (macaron or strawberry) and free toppings (sprinkles, coconut, Biscoff crumble, Cocoa Pebbles, etc.). I chose the strawberry premium topping which was one strawberry.
Soft serve ice cream flavors:
Milk: thick, creamy, smooth, and dense
Milk tea
Cookies ‘n cream
Ube
Matcha: great thick, creamy texture, light on the matcha flavor though
Cookie butter
The strange thing about the swirls is that you can’t get any combination of flavors. They’ll only let you get two flavors if they’re side by side in the same machine. The soft serve had great texture. They also have very cute spoons now.
