Smile
A smile can be faked with lips and teeth
The eyes will show what really lies beneath
What is going on? Where have you been?
It will be okay, just let someone in
I know you are hurting but you have to let go
If you don’t then all you will feel is low
Raise up your head, let go of the past
Jesus died for you so “this too shall pass!”
He knows what is really going on in your heart
Talking to Him about it is a good place to start
God knows you completely and fully within
He has seen all the mess ups, all of your sin
He knew you would make mistakes before you were even born
He didn’t look back at you with a face full of scorn
It wasn’t 3 nails that kept Him on that tree
Rather His love held Him there for both you and me
If that does not put a smile in your heart
Maybe get on your knees before the Lord and just fall apart
He will catch every last piece of you
All He wants is to make you brand new
I’ll pray with you, all you need do is ask
Let your true self show and get rid of the mask
Give your all back to the Lord
Let today be the day you’re finally restored.
