Angus & Julia Stone’s third album, a self titled work from 2014, is some of the best folk/indie rock ever to come out of the Australian scene. I seriously can not fault this album, the Sydney duo are at their absolute best, pouring themselves into their work to deliver something beyond comparison. There’s something for almost everyone here, but what I really need to point out is the strength of Julia’s vocal work in this; she’s got this incredible power, both soulfully sweet yet packing an amazing punch that complements her brother’s melodies expertly, as well as his own vocals. Absolutely amazing. Highlight tracks include A Heartbreak, Grizzly Bear, Heart Beats Slow, Wherever You Are, Get Home, All This Love, and Roses. Available on iTunes and Spotify. Hung back at work to make sure something happened (worth it), so started this session a little later than intended, however the arm/chest/shoulder work is improving week over week to the point where I’m considering upping the intensity and ditching the cardio element entirely (outside of a 200 cal warmup).
