Cordelia x reader - NFWMB
because a lot of you requested I do some cordelia again :))
THe expereinces here are taken from my own retail experiences from today so ya know funnn, i wish I had a cordelia too
It had been a long ass day and you had had it up to here. Your little bookstore had suddenly been doing better, but more business had also brought along more customers ready to complain about anything and everything.
You legs were aching, and your feet screamed at you to just sit down for a moment. You had been up since six thirty in the morning, and it was now almost five in the afternoon. Your only break was during lunch, but that hadn’t been much either.
Then your favourite customer walked in, and your day seemed a little brighter. Her long blonde hair looked so good, and you wondered what it felt like to run your fingers through it. She smiled at you when she saw you looking at her and you blushed slightly and looked down at what you had been busy with before she came in.
You still followed her round your shop in the corner of your eye, not wanting to be as obvious this time. She was a welcome distraction after the day you’d had, and when you were sure she was fully engrossed in looking at the bookshelves, you dared to look at her again properly.
Her elegance awed you and you wished you’d see her more often than the few odd times a week she would wander into the shop. She always brought the smell of flowers and nature with her, and something you couldn’t describe. Something close to magic maybe.
It was always able to calm you on the worst of days, today being one of them, and make you feel a bit happier.
A customer appeared at the checkout so you went over to help them out and go back to your reprieve of the day. That was, until the customer started getting more and more irate when you wouldn’t give her a special discount that she was sure of she should get. When you kept refusing, and explained calmly to her that such a discount had never been given here, she insisted on speaking to the owner.
She dared say she even knew the owner and that they always gave her a discount. It made you chuckle a bit when she said that, and you told her that this bookstore was , in fact, yours.
The customer however, saw your chuckle as the biggest disrespect, as she took her book in her hand and hit you with it.
The shock of the harsh slap that rang through the store, stole the words from your mouth and the pain reverberated from your arm to your shoulder and you felt tingles throughout your whole body.
The next second there was a kind voice in your ear, and a warm hand on your shoulder. The customer was suddenly silent, and you didn’t really understand what was going on. Your brain too tired and too wired from the slap of the book harsh against your arm.
The kind warm voice from seconds ago, turned cold and harsh towards the woman and she fled the store, leaving her books behind.
“Are you okay? I asked you before but perhaps you were still a bit too shocked.” The kind voice said again and you finally had the mind to look at who was standing beside you, an arm softly wrapped around your shoulder in a comforting manner.
It was the stunning woman, her scent washing over you as you realised, and you felt a lot better already.
“I think I am?” You said, but your voice sounded much more unsteady than you meant it to sound.
Behind your back she flicked her fingers and the opened sign magically turned into a closed sign at the door as she led you to a chair to sit down.
When your feet were finally off the ground you realised how tired you actually were, and how much your feet and legs were aching.
“Let me see your arm.” SHe said softly, and you let her without protesting even a little bit.
“My name is Cordelia, by the way.” She said after a few moments of silence. You quietly replied with your name as you watched her examine the massive bruise that was starting to form.
As she put her hnad over it, she whispered something under her breath there was a strange tingle that went through your whole arm, as the swelling suddenly went down.
“How did you do that?” You asked curiously, a bit of excitement in your voice. these were the moments you’d normally only find in books, not happening to you.
Later, on your third date with Cordelia, you’d learn that it was her magic, her witchcraft, that helped you heal from that much quicker than you’d normally do, but right now it was a mystery that you didn’t mind at all.
Because instead of telling you what it was, she almost shyly asked you out for a date whenever you were free, and you didn’t even have to think for more that a split second as you happily agreed.
