summary: choi han decided to use the fact that you adores him way too much to hide his true nature.
rei's note: i wrote this while i was tired and half asleep, so there might be a lot of errors. but don’t worry, i’ll try to edit it once i have some free time!
if there was one thing choi han never expected to happen on his life was meeting someone who is.... very fond of him.
a little backstory, you were alberu's guardian knight. someone known for your physical prowess, charisma and influence. just by having you as his guardian knight was more than enough for alberu to be able to keep the factions of the second and third prince on check.
you were known to be someone who doesn't show any emotions. you usually kept a poker face, and your hand always rests on the hilt of your sword. remaining vigilant to anyone who might cause harm to your liege.
alberu on the other hand, take a pride about the fact that he was the one who knows you the best. but when you first met choi han, cale henituse's bodyguard. he was taken aback.
because...what the hell? why do you look and act like an elf towards a dragon? no offense, he was a quarter elf-but, ( name ), that is not normal!
at first, choi han was pretty overwhelmed. because during his stay on roan kingdom, this was the first time someone looked at him like that. with pure unadulterated admiration.
he knew that the only reason why you idolize him because of the fact that just like you, he was a swordmaster. but for some reasons, watching how your expression seemed to brighten up whenever you saw him... felt good.
i can view that choi han wouldn't even realize the fact that he was already a yandere. because at first he was like "oh, cale-nim told me to take care of them, so i should take care of them!" then suddenly, it became. "i should take care of them since they were my friend now!"
to be honest, at first he only thinks of you as a friend, a sparring partner even. he likes the fact that you seemed to enjoy sparring with him. and you also seemed to overjoyed whenever he taught you of some new techniques.
time skip, on the henituse's battle against the indomitable alliance. you were sent by alberu to help cale. that was also the first time choi han realized something was wrong with him.
it was only for a brief of moment, when syrem was able to injure your shoulder- choi han lost it.
how dare that fucker-!!
and well, let's see. you were aware of the injuries that syrem got from choi han and raon right? well, it was much worse now. syrem was able to escape the henituse territory barely alive.
after the fight, you were confused at the sight of the bloodied choi hand approaching you. he was practically oozing with bloodlust. just by watching the healer tend your wound made him more angry.
but you see, you were... uhm, pretty dense. much denser than cale was. i mean, you actually thought that choi han was angry about the fact that syrem was able to escape.
but no, he was angry because he let that fuc- i mean, syrem, to touch you.
and choi han who doesn't want to see you get hurt again, used your feelings towards him to make sure that you will stay on sidelines during the war on the ubarr territory. he told you that cale needs protection, so you should stay with him on the ship with his liege.
you see, cale could easily see through his bullshits. but did cale did anything to stop choi han? no.
hell, he even supported choi han's yandere tendencies.
as a yandere choi han was an obsessive and overprotective one. who can also be manipulative if needed.
he can easily use your adoration and admiration towards him just to make sure that you won't get yourself on a mess. choi han is a certified two-face. he can be merciless to other who wanted to hurt you. but in front of you? well, he is a harmless, adorable golden retriever.
and by the way, did i already mentioned that you actually looked like cale henituse- no, kim rok soo's deceased sibling? and that shithead of a god (the god of death) actually reincarnated you on the roan kingdom because he accidentally killed you?
well, it was another story to tell.
