Redrew my Absolute Lithops Effect comic based on the epilogue of In Favor with Their Stars by @mxmollusca !

Chapter 4 is up!
Ed is an engineer aboard the Revenge, an interplanetary research vessel on a multi-year mission to study Jupiter's moon Europa. An accident requires that Ed awaken from cryostasis over six months early, and finds his only companion to be Synthetic Transport Entity/Deep Europa (Stede), the ship's onboard AI.
This is classic mutual pining with a sci-fi twist, inspired by all of my favorite stories about the nature of personhood. -----
Ed kept rolling his lip between his teeth, and then: “You wanna do something weird?”
“I’m listening.”
Ed nodded slowly, and then faster as his thoughts solidified. “Antenna’s too stubby to send a strong enough signal, right?” His words sped up and tumbled out excitedly. “What if we overclock the whole rig and run the transmission along the entire length of the ship?”
“Ed, you’re a genius!” exclaimed Stede, and boy, wasn’t that something? Ed felt awash in the light of Stede’s praise; a pleasant burning tingled from his toes to the tips of his ears. Must be a malfunction in his suit, and definitely not–well, it didn’t matter what it was, did it? Stede continued: “It would take a tremendous amount of power to–”
“--to accommodate for the reduced directive capabilities,” Ed added giddily, “so we–”
“--wouldn’t be able to do it often, but if you were able to reroute the receiver power supply to the transmitter–”
“It might just work,” they said in unison.
A short comic based on the epilogue of In Favor with Their Stars by @mxmollusca and the first part of “Absolute Lithops Effect” by The Mountain Goats
Messed around in this picrew and made STE/DE and Ed from In Favor with Their Stars
“Please tell me it doesn’t hurt,” Ed choked, heart in his throat, unable to cast his words beyond the pounding of the surf. He already knew the answer, though. He knew what bodies were for.
Just had to do one more illustration from @mxmollusca‘s In Favor with Their Stars which concludes with the epilogue tomorrow! Seriously y’all, go read this fic -- there are so many stellar lines that will be rattling around in my head for a good long time.
The final podfic excerpt of In Favor with Their Stars is the first scene of Chapter 11 -- STE/DE replays the audio logs from his anxiety spiral, Ed' reassurance, and Sonnet 25. Then STE/DE opens up the auxiliary memory and writes his own poetry.
Run time is 3:03, transcript on AO3 here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/43692465/chapters/113350837

All my love and gratitude to @mxmollusca for letting me play around and bring STE/DE and Ed to life through voice acting. And a great large thank you to you dear listeners and folks who have commented here on tumblr or left kudos on AO3.
Very. Strong. Preference.
So this past winter I made an audio drama adaptation of selected scenes from the OFMD sci-fi AU In Favor with Their Stars by @mxmollusca featuring my own voice acting for Ed and STE/DE plus sound design.
You can listen to all 9 episodes on SoundCloud here (total run time is 34 mins). Transcripts are available on Ao3 here. And you can browse the tag #ifwts audio drama excerpts on my blog if you want to see each of the individual eps as they were released over the weeks.
Today's podfic is the third scene from Ch 10 of In Favor with Their Stars by @mxmollusca -- Ed opens up about his childhood, STE/DE has an anxiety spiral, and STE/DE shares his favorite Shakespearean sonnet.
Run time is 5:47, transcript on AO3 here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/43692465/chapters/112756018
