i gotta admit, even as a big fan of animal, you make a lot of good points. the marketing for him is ridiculous and i can understand why some fans would get annoyed with him after a while. he’s a great character but at the same time, it’d be nice to give others a chance in the spotlight too. i’ve also seen him get compared with elmo quite a bit over the years, what with the overexposure and everything.    

‘overexposure’ is the perfect term for it

and yeah it’s not like I’m saying animal’s a bad character, it’s just that people are gonna get sick of him if he’s constantly there while other characters that haven’t really been touched in years are being pushed aside in his favor. same could be said with other overused characters/properties, like what you said with elmo, or even ‘frozen’

animal is not nearly as bad as the minions, but it’s still way too much

7. What fictional story do you want to see the Muppets do a parody of?

I want them to try Wizard of Oz again but, ya know, actually good. And I don’t think they’ve done Alice In Wonderland, I mean I know they did the episode with Brooke Shields but I’d love to see them do a special or a mini-movie.

Also this is more obscure but “Shock Treatment” would be cool, it’d be like a weird Veterinarian’s Hospital reunion that’s also a musical.
