!Seeing Husband!Ryuji for the first time since the games started!
(Pt1 of 4-5)
You stood next to Rei as the smoke cleared. Arisu’s plan had just led the group to success once again. Everyone reaching to take off the mask and preparing to head to the next cart.
“There's another train coming!” you had heard someone scream from a distance. It was faint, mostly covered by the loud sound of the train.
You turned your head back to see Arisu staring at something-or someone on the otherside of the train, eyes wide in what seemed like horror..?
“ARISU!” someone screamed from the train across from you guys. 'Wait- another train?' you thought. Everyone's heads turned to see who had screamed and where it came from.
The woman who had screamed out was trying to reach Arisu, arm extended forward as she clutched the doorframe.
Arisu quickly tried to reach out as well, but the distance was to wide.
Both you and Rei moved towards Arisu for a better view of the commotion. The two of you hanging onto the handles of the train, trying not to fall out.
You and Rei had been together since the first game. You were like the elder sister she had always wished for while she was the younger sister you had always wanted.
From what you could see, the woman reaching towards Arisu had short hair and was dressed in a white shirt; She had almost perfectly matched the description Arisu had given of his wife and looked like the woman in the tape the police showed you after your husband had gone missing. Usagi.
Authorities questioned the possibility of an affair between the two. You tried to defend him, but the evidence was overwhelming, both having gone missing together at a hotel, and Ryuji having a rather concerning obsession with her.
You looked over to see the rest of the group on Usagi's team. Your eyes scanned everyone on that train until they landed on a familiar face who was already staring at you with their eyes blown open. You felt yourself freeze entirely as you stared at them.
It was Ryuji, your husband, the man who promised to never leave you and to love you in sickness or in health, like you did for him.
For some reason, he was out of his wheelchair and lying on the floor of the cart. Your head started to race with concern, and your heart rate sped up the more you two stared at each other.
Rei turned to you as she had noticed you freeze, “You ok onee?” she asked with her eyebrows furrowed. You just absentmindedly nodded before realizing the trains were being split, and both Usagi and Arisu could injure themselves gravely.
You didn't even process your quick movement as you launched to pull Arisu away from the cart's door. Ryuji doing the same with Usagi.
Your head pounded from the noise, your stomach doing what felt like backflips from all the shit happening around you.
Both teams watched each other from farther and farther away as the trains rushed towards different locations. Soon, the two trains were cut off entirely by walls, and the noise quieted. You tried to catch your breath as Rei laid her head on your shoulder.
“She was with a guy,” Tetsu spoke, “Hey!” Sachiko discouraged before hitting his shoulder lightly like a mother telling her kid to knock it off.
Your heart dropped at that sentence. Your wedding ring suddenly feeling heavy. Could he really have been cheating?
