Pt3.5 of !Seeing Husband!Ryuji for the first time since the games started!
3.5/5 Meeting
After leaving the Kick the Can arena, the six of you headed towards the final game. All of you mentally preparing yourselves for the brutality which is about to take place. Your health had gotten better since yesterday. Your ribs still hurt, of course, but it was bearable to walk around; you still had a slight limp, though.
You noticed Arisu had recovered almost completely. He had this look of determination planted on his face, observing and taking in the sight of the Arenas building as we inched closer and closer until finally standing face to face with it. It was a weird building, a rectangular base suspended in the air with a set of stairs for you all to climb. It was located in Shibuya Station.
In front of you all stood a sign. It read [GAME] ARENA THIS WAY
Rei was the first to speak up, “So this is it? The final game,” she said. “So Shibuya is the final game arena..” Arisu announced, “Let's hope that we can make it out alive.” Sachiko prayed with a worried expression, painting her face gloomy. “If I don’t make it, I hope you’ll remember me now and then,” Nobuaki said in a monotone voice. “Eh, I wouldn't count on it,” Tetsu replied. This time it was your turn to scold Tetsu, “You can't just say that, Tetsu!” You said. “Jeez, man.” Nobuaki simply replied as he turned around to look at Tetsu.
Tetsu just smirked at both of you before saying,” You better not forget about me either.” “I would never, Tetsu, something about you is so memorable.” You simply said with a grin. Tetsu smiled back at you before ruffling up your already tangled hair. You just pulled his hands away. You would have said something, but decided against it.
“If, in the end, the only way out is betrayal, no hard feelings, okay?” Rei said, “That's Life, I guess.” Tetsu responded. “Ready?” Arisu asked the group, “No.” You responded. Tetsu and Nobuaki just looked at you, Tetsu patting your shoulder reassuringly. Arisu didn't respond to what you said, but instead said, “Let's do this.”
Your heart rate sped up as the distance between you and the stairs shortened. “So who goes first?” Rei asked while staring at said stairs. No one said anything. Arisu went first. Followed by you, sure you were scared out of your mind, but you weren’t about to be the last one up those stairs. Tetsu showed up behind you. Thankfully, the stairs weren't too long. On the other side of them stood the... city?
A whole ass city, ‘what is this?’ you thought. Arisu, too, was confused; to be fair, everyone was. You, alongside the others, didn't walk around. You all just observed from that one spot. It looked and felt real; Loud sounds, busy crowds, etc., although you realized something weird about the angles in which people walked, and noted everyone's slow and steady paces. They walked straight before turning sharply at a corner that shouldn't exist. You looked to see if anyone else had noticed this. Out of the corner of your eye, you watched Arisu extend his hand and collide with a wall. “This is just a screen,” He informed, just as you expected.
You walked up to where Arisu had touched and did the same, extending your arm forward. Out of the corner of your eye, you spotted.. You. ‘Wait, what?’ you thought as your eyes widened.
There you were, standing tall and walking slowly. She was approaching you. You felt the hairs on your neck stand the closer it got. It suddenly stopped in front of you, before turning and walking away. You followed after. It was Unsettling, seeing yourself. Even more when the image stared back at you with no emotion whatsoever. Creepy..
You looked back to the team to see if anyone else had noted this, and you watched as everyone followed their images.
You once more looked around at everyone else and watched as a pitch black door opened up in front of him. Curiosity hit you like a truck. You abandoned your image and followed behind Arisu to the door. Walking in the walls lit brightly, it was now night in a different section of the city. You weren't sure where, “These images are AI-generated,” Rei pointed out.
Once again, your image walked on ahead. You followed as usual, before being led to yet another door. You heard clanks behind you as doors shut tight. You looked away from your image to look around the new room, taking in the scene before looking back for your clone. But it was gone, in a second, you had lost your image.
Panic surged as you tried to relocate it. You finally spotted it after a minute. It had just walked out of a store, bags in hand, filled with what looked like pillows and small pink blankets.? You looked closer to see what was in the bags while following behind it. It seemed like a pacifier stuck out. You weren't sure; your heart raced at the thought of it being a pacifier.
Ever since you and Ryuji had gotten married, you had longed for a child, but Ryuji’s work always got in the way. He always always busy, always got home late, and left you early in the mornings to wake up alone. Though the moments you shared together always made you feel so loved.
You followed your clone deeper into the room, stopping when the image reached a house's front porch. It was your house, your front porch. A smile spread across your lips as you revisited the home you missed so dearly. The images on the walls changed once more. You were in the house now. Watching as the clone set her bags on the table before walking over to the living room. There sat an image of Ryuji. Handsome as ever, he had an infant in his arms.
Your eyes filled with tears as you watched the scene play out. You tried to reach out and touch the image, but it was just an image. You longed so badly to be back in Ryuji’s arms, ready to put everything that had happened in the past month aside if it meant having him lie in bed next to you once more. You longed for the family of your dreams as it was dangled in front of you by these twisted games. You longed for Ryuji and his lips, those nights on the couch watching a movie while Ryuji held onto your waist from behind-Big spooning you.
That was until you heard a small gasp from behind you. You were knocked out of your daydreaming and turned to the source of the sound. Behind you was Ryuji.. Before you could process what you were doing, your legs were throwing themselves at the man. At your husband, your lover.
The second you crashed onto his lap, his arms wrapped around you in an embrace so tight you thought it would leave a bruise. Your legs dangled to the right of his chair while you clung to him, arms around his neck. Tears slid down your cheeks, and a sob tore through the room as you buried your face into his neck. You were instantly hit by a scent of home. He smelled the same as always. “Ryuji..” You muttered in your broken voice, “Ryuji, I missed you so much.” You finally mastered up. “Oh y/n.. I missed you too, darling,” He answered back, as he too slid his head into the corner of where your neck and shoulder met. He pulled away before locking lips with you. The passion in the kiss made your lips hurt, but every second felt like a distraction from these games. You felt transported back home.
You felt eyes watching you guys, but you didn't care, too busy reuniting with your man. After a few moments, you finally pulled away from him, you stared into his brown eyes, and he stared into yours. Eye contact was broken as he turned his focus to your tear-stricken cheeks, raising his hands and wiping them away. You finally stood, though it took a lot of might, as the only thing you wanted to do was be with Ryuji; you turned to see who was staring. Unsurprisingly, there stood Rei and Nobuaki. “Oh, hey, didn't see you there,” you said unbothered. “Clearly,” Rei responded with a smirk and her unmistakable sass. “You were too busy locking lips with loverboy over there,” She said while signaling to Ryuji.
You grinned. “So, mind explaining who you two are?” Your husband spoke from behind you, “Im Rei, Guy next to me.” She pointed at Nobuaki, who hadn't said a word, just staring with wide eyes at you and your husband, “Is Nobuaki,” she finished, “Now who are you?” she asked back with even more sass as she placed her hand on one hip and shifted her weight to one leg. “Im Ryuji. Y/n’s Husband,” he said with rather sternly with his eyes scrunched a bit.
You were about to comment until two more people entered the room, A man and a woman. They seemed to be related- Siblings, probably. They looked wary of everything. A door to your right opened up You and Ryuji turned to look at each other. You walked over behind his wheelchair and wheeled him into the new room. Arisu, Usagi, Sachiko, and Tetsu were already there. There was a table in the middle of the room with collars and wristbands located on it in a circle.
The door shut behind you, sealing you all in. Arisu turned to look as we entered. His eyes made eye contact with yours before looking down at Ryuji. You noticed pure hatred and realization fill his expression. “It's YOU!” he exclaimed before marching forward and punching Ryuji in his jaw. Ryuji toppled over off his wheelchair, and instant Rage filled you too “ARISU! WHAT THE HELL!?” You exclaimed at him while trying to help your husband back up, Usagi, and the siblings helping lift him too, while Tetsu and Nobuaki held Arisu back. “WHY ARE YOU WITH USAGI?!” Arisu yelled at Ryuji. “Stop it!” someone yelled at him. “YOU KILLED HER!” Arisu went on, “Calm down!!” Tetsu said to him, trying to calm him. “All this is your fault!” he wouldn't shut up. “Arisu, stop it! WAIT!” Usagi scolded. “Ryuji, are you alright??” Usagi asked while being dangerously close to Ryuji. You knew it was wrong to feel jealous of the woman in such an event, such as the borderlands, but you couldn't help it. “Hold on, there we go,” The guy from earlier- the sibling said as he helped your husband back into his chair.
You stood behind Ryuji, watching Arisu and your husband at the same time. You also noted how Usagi let her hand linger on Ryuji's back while explaining to Arisu how Ryuji had practically saved and reunited the two, but you weren't listening. Instead, you were too busy having rage build inside at you from how Usagi's hand had rubbed Ryuji’s back and how Arisu had just assaulted your husband.
“Arisu..” you spoke in a voice so threatening it sent shivers down everyone's spines. “What. The. Actual. FUCK. IS. WRONG WITH YOU.” You screamed in anger at the man. His eyes went wide in fear. You've never screamed, you've never been so mad- or mad in general. Usagi just backed away slowly. “YOU THINK IT'S OK TO JUST PUNCH RYUJI?” you screamed before wounding your arm back and-
SLAP
You smacked him so hard that your hand was still left imprinted on the guy's face, your wedding ring making a small scratch on his cheek. Usagi gasped and rushed to push you back, but you grabbed onto her hand before doing so, “If you fucking touch me, I'll make sure to punch you as hard as Arisu did to Ryuji. Maybe that will knock sense into you!” You said to Usagi in a horrifically peachy tone. Arisu was speechless as he held onto his cheek, “But- Ryuji, he-” “He what?” you interrupted, “Killed your wife? YOUR WIFE KILLED MY HUSBAND! In case you've forgotten, let me refresh your memory. Both our spouses went missing at that hotel together. DON'T JUST BLAME ONE PERSON HERE,” You screamed while letting out months of pent-up rage. Usagi and Ryuji’s eyes widened at how bad their actions sounded out loud, and they simply looked down in shame. You would have continued if it weren't for the damn PA activating and the wall to your left glowing white.
“Registration is now closed. 11 participants confirmed.” It said
“11 participants? There's only 10 of us,” you thought out loud while everyone turned to each other, thinking they miscounted and forgetting your outburst from earlier to focus on the game. “What do you think it means?” Sachiko asked. “A child,” Arisu said. “Huh?” you muttered.
“A child,” Arisu clarified before turning to face Usagi. “The doctor said you’re pregnant, Usagi.” Your eyes widened in disbelief. “I.. I’m pregnant,” Usagi questioned. Arisu nodded, “You're carrying our baby,” he added.
“Oh. So that's why it's 10 people. The baby,” Rei said. “Hey, kid! Nice one!!” Tetsu cheered for Arisu. A smile painted your face at Tetsu’s kindness. “But.. a child in this situation is..” Sachiko cut herself off. Everyone is filling in the blank she left out. You turned your head back to Ryuji and walked back to him. You sat yourself on his lap and rested your head on his shoulder. You had forgotten about your pain due to the emotional train ride you’ve been on, but taking a second to just breathe made the pain come back. You grabbed onto your rib and just laid on Ryuji. “You ok there, love?” he whispered into your ear, “Yeah..Just a bruise..probably,” you replied.
“The game will now begin. Please put on your collars and wristbands,” The PA said. You turned back to the table you recalled earlier and were the first to approach it. You grabbed two collars and wristbands and turned back to Ryuji, handing him a pair.
“[GAME] POSSIBLE FUTURES,” the screen and speaker read. You went to put on the collar and wristband, feeling it latch onto you. You tugged at it and felt it strengthen slightly to prevent it from being taken off. You looked back at Ryuji, who was staring at you, caught off guard slightly at your sudden movement to look at him. You smiled slightly, but the way Usagi and Ryuji were so close together earlier was still heavy on your heart.
You zoned out slightly as the PA explained the rules. You simply remember grids, dice rolls, doors, lockdowns, 15 points, and choosing your future. You didn't worry too much, knowing Arisu and Ryuji were cunning at these games, but you did worry about choosing the wrong future. You noticed Rei up at the front and approached her, Your Hands intertwining with hers like an older sister grabbing onto her little sister.
“You two, what are your names?” Arisu asked from behind you, “Im sohta. This is my sister-” “-Yuna, the siblings answered. ‘Sohta and Yuna,’ you made a mental note to yourself before returning back to Ryuji’s side. You listened as Arisu introduced everyone.
“Begin. Roll the dice and select the room you wish to enter. The time limit is 3 minutes.” The PA announced, "A small round platform emerged from the table, showcasing four colored dice." Each dice color corresponds to a door as they appeared on the walls surrounding you all.
“So the dice and the doors are connected by color.” Usagi said, “All right! Dice games are sorta my speciality,” Tetsu said. You liked Tetsu; he was a sweet old guy. “So then you're a gambler too, are ya,” Sachiko responded.
Tetsu grabbed the dice with both hands, cupping them in his hands as he brought them up to his mouth before blowing on them. “Okay! Let's do this,” he said before releasing the dice onto the table.
‘Yellow1, Blue7, Red5, and Green4, ’ You noted to yourself.
Small dings could be heard ringing from each door. The number the dice landed on soon appeared on the color door it matched with. Holograms appearing on all walls holding future possibilities for our lives. “Are these really visions of our future?” Nobuaki asked You looked up in search of the holograms with your future. Then you spotted one just above the door C2…
There you were, Baby bump visible through your clothes as a maid whom you assumed Ryuji had hired tended to the house. Ryuji could be seen on his laptop typing away with one hand as the other rubbed your thigh lovingly. You watched as Ryuji's face turned to face you and leaned in for a kiss. Your eyes practically turned to hearts, and a warm sensation spread across your body as you watched it all play out.
