I am so excited to be sharing this drawing. I've had the idea for this drawing in my head since the day after last Christmas (so December 26th 2024 xD). I was listening to Glory and Gore by Lorde and thinking how it was already a pretty "Once-ler coded" song, but then this image flashed in my mind. I thought the song would be perfect for 2012 and 72 art because 2012 could be the glory (because 2012 Once-ler is not actually very greedy but is very prideful instead, and is mostly the one that started the fandom) and 72 could be the gore (because the 72 version of the Lorax is much darker in feel and 72ler seems more evil in comparison to 2012), and they could literally be holding hands. I was fangirling at my own imagination but didn't have the skills to bring the drawing to live yet.
Until this October! I finally felt ready to draw this! And oh boy this was a hard drawing to make, I worked on it for a week, it must have taken me like 15 hours if I were to guess xD. I drew everything in this artwork except for the Lorax billboard which is from the movie. But I am so proud of this art, it looks just how it did in my mind!
I wanted 12's side of the drawing to look a little brighter and for him to literally be facing a blue sky and trees as if he's still unaware of the damage he's doing. There's news reporters and cameras and money on his side to show the "glory", while 72's side is all dead trees, pollution and darkness to show the destruction of nature and the "gore".
Also I must point out that the 72ler in this drawing is a popular Once-ler OC and askblog! (Link to blog here!! ^w^) I really love this 72 and know that most of the fandom does as well, so I knew he had to be the one in this drawing! <3 I hope I did him justice and I send his mod lots of love!! Thank you for creating this wonderful character! ^w^ (Just wanted to be clear that this is not 72ler's canon design nor my design, this is somebody else's beloved OC!^^) I wanted to link Entre's blog as well (Link here ^^) because even though this wasn't intended to be 1272 ship art, I know this 72ler and Entre were often shipped sooo if you my dear viewer want to view that 12ler as Entre you totally can xD!
I drew back in June, and this was already on Teen Poet's account @teenage-poet-onceler for his Camp Weehawken signup post, but I still wanted to post it here too cus I love it very much to be honest :'3. I didn't end up using Poet's account too much for Camp Weehawken, however we was apart of a couple roleplays. I'm wondering if it would be too late to post about those roleplays on his account. I want to but am I too late? Idk :')

I still haven't figured out how I want to draw Elsa but this is my most recent drawing of her. I remember when I was a kid, when Frozen just came out that everybody was obsessed with Elsa but I liked Anna better, I thought she was the actual main character and hero of the story and that she was cute and funny and that everybody just liked Elsa more because she had cool powers. Then rewatching Frozen for the first time in years on New Years Eve I realized "oh wait, I've literally become Elsa". She's painfully relatable now, I even wrote an essay for my best friend Monique explaining why but probably nobody wants to read that :')
This also might be the last of the comfort characters series thingy because the rest of them are not human, lol
This is the first drawing of my Once-ler OC since I decided he would be The Poet Once-ler or "Poet" instead of just "Once-kins". At first I didn't really want him to have a "theme" since he was supposed to be the Once-ler from my fanfic "Once-ler-pon a Time" which was supposed to be an alternate version of the canon Lorax movie, so he was supposed to be my version of the canon Once-ler. But then I saw lots of Once-lers with themes and decided I did indeed want one. And I love writing poetry and listening to music with poetry for lyrics, so "Once-kins" became Poet.
I still want the Once-ler in my fanfic to pretty much be canon Once-ler + my headcanons though so maybe he won't start going by Poet until after the events of the fic xD. And to be honest, I am highly considering resigning him again already to capture 2012 Once-ler better, and his story arc in my fic. ^^ Might give him more dark blue and green (also I imagine the blue in his hair was dyed that way by Audrey ^^).

My dear sweet summer child, Audrey Flowers :'). Audrey was actually going to join Camp Weehawken as a 14 or 15-year-old camper this summer, but I ran out of time to sign her up and was already busy with Teen Poet and other summer stuff xD. But I did actually complete a drawing for her back in August! This would have been her profile picture! Next year for sure I'll sign her up, and hopefully there will be an "Audrey Cabin" again xD.
