With AiKO having ran out of codes a while ago and Anicute being down for one month, emotions are running high. nure shared this screenshot which you may have seen without knowing it was theirs:
Unfortunately, the part of the population who would share a screenshot without the source (which, while the e-mail is very cropped, can be identified as coming from a legitimate vsynth producer - if you provide it) is also the part that would share misinformation such as "I heard Renri is discontinued too", which is not the case! Because of that, some people are assuming the screenshot is also not real.
Since I shared this with them, nure has kindly provided more credible screenshots:
Any screenshot in the world could be doctored, so with all this information, it's up to you whether you believe it or not! This is what's available, from a producer who doesn't have a history of pranks. That's all.
According to users of the website, ANiCUTE has been down for at least a month.
AiKO was already sold out on May 9 when this user checked the website. (This is also a long-time member of the community with no known history of pranks.)
Since at least April, Yamine Renri's form has been available through yuzuri's website. (Tweet announcing the website's revamp in April, with a working link to it.)
Basically, Renri's already been in yuzuri's hands. The problem is that Eleanor Forte AI and AiKO are not, that we know, available for purchase anywhere else - this is why they're considered discontinued, even without this e-mail from Dreamtonics.
You'll have to trust me for these screenshots: Dreamtonics has, indeed, removed the Buy now and Start trial buttons. (Anyone with SynthV2 can check.)
Here is one of my own Discord messages from May showing that the Buy now button was there before on Eleanor Forte.
(This was when Eleanor Standard Lite Plus was discovered by Takoyaki Donuts, just then confirming that she was only available to people who had purchased Eleanor AI.)
I'm surprised by this sudden discontinuation personally, since there was no announcement and her Standard Plus came out so recently. It's unclear whether the Plus voicebanks were developed by Dreamtonics, since the only announcement we got for AiKO and GENBU's was an informal one from Amano Kei (who no longer works with them) iirc.
From what I remembered, this Standard Plus voicebank was even teased before its release, from what I gathered from this screenshot by veteran of the community Infoholic:
I asked Info who Eji was just now to double-check, and she told me that they're someone who worked at Volor, and kind of still does though the situation is/was unclear due to a management issue.
Seeing that screenshot had put me under the impression that Eleanor Forte was still being worked on to some degree, which is why I'm sort of in disbelief. But everything I've shared here is the information we have.
tl;dr: please just send the sources for your "confirmation" screenshots and don't share unsourced hearsay so I don't have to spend a lot of time writing tumblr poasts to clarify . thank you
Update, since I never know when someone might start reblogging an old post: an e-mail from ANiCUTE has seemingly confirmed that this is temporary. Why Dreamtonics used the vocabulary of discontinued - miscommunication towards them or from them, or an actual discontinuation to be replaced by an upgrade - we may have to guess.
