AILEY II IS IN BATON ROUGE! . . . . For the past several days I have had the PLEASURE of teaching Horton-based modern master classes around Baton Rouge, my birth city ❤️...in anticipation of Ailey II’s Performance here at Baton Rouge Community College’s Magnolia Theatre! I can not even begin to express how fulfilling, rejuvenating, and enlightening this past week has been. It’s almost like my two worlds, my life in New York and the life I keep with me always in my memories, are being joined together...by my heart. A MODERN-DAY SANCOFA SCENARIO (ancient african proverb reference) lol ☺️❤️☺️! I am just so thankful. so thankful. So thankful for BRCC for bringing me back, and so thankful for Ailey II, for giving me something to give back. It’s been two weeks since Ailey II’s NYC season at @nyuskirball, and I am still having a hard time finding the words to express what it meant to me. Every time I think about it, it brings bittersweet tears of sadness and joy all in one! The gratitude I feel is almost unreal. So I am just going to project my thoughts towards those auditioning today :) . . . . .

For those of you auditioning for Ailey II today, just know that today is the day that can ultimately change the rest of your life…if you let it. If you let it, this job this experience this journey will mold you into a person you never thought you could be. If you let it, the sky truly and ultimately becomes the limit!
