This is what you call #dedication to getting a #job done. . The next major step in completing the #AirplaneFactory v1.0 is connecting the #electricity to the power box 45 feet away. . This involves (re)digging a trench 2 feet deep (although my 1st attempt was only an average one one foot) and using 1-1/2” conduit this time for all 3 cables (I mistakenly had only one before). . Working until the light’s battery died, I was able to get almost all of the old conduit uncovered. The rest will be done after church tomorrow. . With any #luck, I’ll be flipping the light switch and seeing my shop lights come on and firing up the air compressor for the first time in its new home. I’m always amazed at how a color can look one shade in the can and change into your envisioned color once it’s applied. . I decided to change #paint tactics up a bit and start with the lower half first this time. . I’ll use plastic taped over the lower half when the time comes to do the upper portion. . Colors for the walls of the #AirplaneFactory v1.0 have been chosen! . Spun Gold for the top half of the interior walls with Con Brio (red) for the bottom half! . #Digging was a lot faster and way easier the first time this #electrical #conduit went in. But, that was the time I rented a mini-excavator, too. . I figured this time around would be maybe a little faster than I expected doing this by hand to install larger diameter conduit. But, noooo! . Even with the softer soil this is still back breaking work! I’ll be so happy when I get this done and finally have lights inside the #AirplaneFactory v1.0! . My forearms felt like Popeye’s bicep last night after pounding in the 8 foot grounding rod into the dirt. I feel fortunate that the vast majority of my hammer blows were accurate and I didn’t cause any major damage to the #drywall that I couldn’t #repair. . Now that the larger diameter #conduit is installed it’s time to close up the section I cut out in the #AirplaneFactory v1.0! With what I’ve learned from my friend Gary, nobody will ever be able to tell it was cut out. .
