Day #21, The Heart of Aces by various authors. This book is a collection of short stories that explore asexual experiences. I will say some stories I loved! While some other stories took me a good while to read through. This is also the only book I know of that has explicit asexual characters. If anyone has other suggestions please let me know. I’m lacking in the asexual reads department. This is more for the YA crows. Mostly because these stories were written with character that are in college and older teens. I would recommend everyone to take a peek at this book and share their thoughts.

@moriartys-minion Have you read Proper Genius (Detective Shoes) by Pargoletta? This was my first ballet!lock fic ever. I reread it today, and boy did it bring on some tears. ‘Tis a good thing though. Present day Sherlock and John, but with flashbacks. It’s a bit of a crossover fic, I believe. On the other hand, AJHall’s shorter-ish fics are swell, and I think this author is underrated. I haven’t read their series/longer fics, but the ones I remember enjoying are Endgame, Rigging screws, size 1 3/8 inch, galvanised, Green Grow the Rushes, O! (Basically, case!fic, case!fic, case!fic; I see you sense the trend. But, disregarding that, the writing is truly compelling, and the interactions between characters equally engaging. I think AJHall builds up her and the BBC! Sherlock  characters really well.)

Wardrobe Pressure series

This is the best Cabin Pressure fic I have read, and it is ALL dialogue. It is incredible, AND it’s a crossover with The Chronicles of Narnia. Seriously, could it get any better?!!! Just do yourself a favour, read and subscribe. It’s 2 parts in, but shaping up to be something special (fingers-crossed for 26 parts total!)

Exactly what it says on the tin. Easy to understand and a great reference book when I get lost in S and Z twists!

The Crown Princess of Gaaldine, by AJHall

I’ve been reading AJ Hall’s fics for probably over ten years now, since we were both in the Harry Potter fandom. You can find most of them in very nice ebook formats here. (If you have any interest in Harry Potter, read Lust Over Pendle. It may not sound like your thing. It is your thing.)

This is the first of a series which crosses over BBC Sherlock and the Brontë children’s fantasy kingdoms, set somewhere in the 17th century. It’s all lovely and twisty and gorgeously well-written, and was a large part of the reason why I got back into fandom in 2012. (Warnings for general gothic sensibilities.)

AJ Hall writes brilliant descriptions, hilarious dialogue, complicated plots, and amazing female characters (canon and OCs). She’s great, go look.
