Do you ever think about contrast between Halward Pavus and Gereon Alexius.

One attempted to sacrifice his son’s wellbeing in order to make him “acceptable” to the world, while the other was ready to burn the world just to buy his son more time.

Felix wasn’t a talented so Gereon made sure to help him develop in any other direction he want. He (and Livia) protected Felix from any harm even if that meant his own father gotta die. While Dorian was betrayed but someone he always respected and wanted to impress.

Dorian saw Felix and Gereon share a bond he should have with Halward, the unconditional love. It had to hurt, watching from the sidelines what he couldn’t get.
