I'm in JROTC and scrolling through it's tag on Tumblr is like... Kinda horrible.
Like, making jokes is one thing, having a laugh is one thing, but thinking you're better than other students because you're in JROTC and they're not isn't the point of being in JROTC. It's supposed to build structure and confidence, not turn you into a stuck-up snob.
I saw someone say they get angry whenever a cadet doesn't know something, but guess whose job it is to teach them?
It's yours.
If a Cadet below you doesn't know something, you have failed as their superior. If a Cadet on the same level as you doesn't know something, you have failed as their equal.
It really ticks me off that there's so many people who proudly say the scream in their Cadets' faces for not knowing something - especially Freshmen. I get it, they're annoying, we all know they're annoying, but if you failed to teach then that is your fault and yelling at them could end with them quitting a program that could seriously benefit them one day.
It's possible to assert your authority without being an asshole. Please learn how. It makes the class easier and more fun for everyone.
me trying to get people to join jrotc
Yo, if anyone on the JROTC side of Tumblr is going to the Fort Pickett JCLC camp, hmu
I look like one of those soldiers coming home to their pets
My favorite thing about the JROTC side of tumblr is people finding out that there’s a JROTC side of tumblr.
hey cadets, here is your local 1SG with the hippiest hips doing armed expo… missing the warmth ☀️
All of the awards I got from my spring semester JROTC awards night!
