the brotherhood of the traveling romance hoody: maggie, YOUR MIND tbh

ajksjdjasjkd the thing is that you’re joking and I’m joking but now I can’t stop thinking about the actual brotherhood of traveling romance hoodie

like when the boys were 13, they went to an old thrift shop because Basile wanted to find something nice but cheap to wear for the end of school year party because he wanted to impress this one girl. They were browsing through old clothes and Lucas was so bored, he wanted to play computer games or just chill out outside and instead here he was, shopping. But he was looking at things anyway and suddenly he pulled out a grey hoodie. He decided to try it on and it looked great on him but he wasn’t sure if he wanted to buy it cause he was saving his pocket money for a new game and he didn’t want to waste them on clothes. But then Yann saw the hoodie and he was like ‘oh bro it looks great, if you’re not taking it, can i try it?’. And so he did and it looked great on him, too. Then Arthur tried it, then Basile, and to their surprise the romance hoodie fitted them all perfectly (not as surprising as the same pair of jeans fitting different body shapes of four teenage girls but still, the boys were mindblown). So Basile thought that wow, that must definitely mean something. And now that summer was near and they wouldn’t see each other for the next two months he decided that the hoodie will be a thing that will keep them close together and they will each have it for two weeks before mailing it to the next person. Lucas was really not convinced to the idea, but both Yann and Arthur were really down for it so it wasn’t like he really had a choice. (good thing that the romance hoodie looked best on him, not that he would tell that to others)

And so, the hoodie kept traveling every summer between four boys and strangely it kept growing with them (which may be Basile’s fault cause he messed it up in the laundry and it got bigger but shhh let’s pretend it’s #magic). Hoodie was the thing that kept them together during many summers. But now, they all graduated from high school and Basile, Yann and Arthur traveled to different parts of France and Lucas was left all alone in Paris. He had to move out from home because of his difficult family situation and found a small room in a flatshare. Boys decided that now everyone gets to keep the hoodie for a month before passing it to the next person.

Finally, one cold october morning, Lucas found a package on his doorstep and inside, there it was. The romance hoodie. He was so excited it was finally his turn to have it (he was less exicted about the explicit letter he got from basile about his not successful hook ups) and he kept wearing the hoodie for the next couple of days, not caring about how dumb he looked wearing the same thing over and over again. But then, one evening, he was watching some documents about sharks while eating chocolate ice cream and obviously this stupid shark had to show up on a screen out of the sudden and obviously a big scoop of ice cream had to land on his hoodie. Obviously. He hurried down the stairs to the building’s laundromat, remembering what his mom used to say about the stains and how you need to wash them off very quickly, so he put it (and some other dirty clothes, it was actually high time to make laundry) in the machine and went back to the flat. He was supposed to go downstairs to put it out in an hour but obviously he fell asleep. When he woke up the next morning, he just uttered a single fuck! before rushing down the stairs (again), this time thinking that all his clothes must smell musty and he will have to wash them up again. But when he entered the room, all his clothes were nicely folded on the table in the middle of the room. All of them, except the romance hoodie dum dum dum dum for the dramatic effect

He started to look for it, but it wasn’t in the laundry machine he put on his wash nor in the clothes dryer. He started to mildly freak out cause he knew that 1. boys will kill him if they find out he lost the hoodie in his own apartment building and 2. he really liked the hoodie and he wanted it back. He heard silent beeps and saw that the other machine was in fact going on for the whole time and the washing cycle has just ended. He opened it without thinking and he started putting out someone’s clothes on the dirty ground in hope of finding the hoodie. But it wasn’t anywhere there. ‘Wow, this person had a whole lot of clothes in the machine, huh‘, he thought and right in this moment he heard someone pretending to cough behind his back. When he turned back he saw the most beautiful man he has ever seen in his life. A man who was wearing his hoodie. Only when he coughed again and run a hand through his hair (which he still had - writer’s note) Lucas realized he was staring at him with open mouth, crouching on the ground next to wet clothes. He saw that the man was talking to him, but his brain was to flabbergasted to register any words.

“Sorry?” Lucas shook his head.

“That’s hmmm that’s my clothes” the man said pointing to the pile of clothes Lucas was practically sitting on.

“Well, that’s my hoodie.” Lucas replied standing up, suddenly feeling rather angry and overprotective over this old piece of clothing.

“Oh shit! I’m so sorry, I came here in the morning to make laundry and I needed to use both machines cause I just got back home from really long holidays and it turned out I don’t have any clean things to wear and I’m sorry, I usually don’t touch other people’s stuff but I really needed it so I put your clothes in the dryer and folded them later but just fuck, I’m sorry this makes no sense (now is the time for you to wonder if it’s eliott talking or me. probably me. i don’t know what I’m writing - writer’s note) and I didn’t have any clean t-shirt so I just put on your hoodie, I’m so sorry, it was so rude of me, I promise, I’ll just put it in the machine and bring it to you when the wash is over” the beautiful man rambled, ruffling his hair from time to time and Lucas couldn’t even focus on his ridiculous explanation or the fact that he’s wearing the hoodie, the only thing on his mind was how can someone look so good. The silence surrounded them until Lucas finally snapped out of his thoughts and spoke up.

“No no, that’s okay.” he said and when he tried to move, he almost tripped over the pile of man’s clothes that were still on the ground “Oh shit! I’m so sorry, fuck, I was just trying to find my hoodie, god, I’m so sorry, I guess I was desperate to find it” he started to collect the clothes from the ground and the man did the same thing.

“That’s okay, at least they’re not as dirty as they were before I put them in the machine, trust me” he giggles and winks at him oh god he winks at him (now try to guess if it’s lucas or me fangirling - writer’s note).

They put the clothes on the table and just stand like this, completely silent for a few moments and Lucas could feel that he needs to get out of there quickly or he would lose his mind completely (he didn’t know if he should blame this guy and his beauty for it or the smell of the detergents though).

“Okay, so... thank you for folding my clothes?” he said, grabbed his pile and started walking to the door

"Wait!” the man yelled after him. When Lucas turned back, he asked “Don’t you want your hoodie now?”

Lucas started thinking about the pros and cons. Pro: the man probably doesn’t wear anything under it. Con: he would die right then and there if he had taken off the hoodie and dying in the laundromat is not the place he imagined he would die and he needs to play it cool. So instead he just casually said, smiling at him:

“No, it’s okay. You can just bring it to me once you have something of your own to wear. besides, it fits you.” It looks good on everyone so it’s not like you’re special, his lizard brain thought, but he didn’t say it out loud.

The man smiled at him and Lucas could swear it felt like his being blinded by the sun.

“Where should I return it then?” he asked.

“Apartment 24″

“And to whom?”

“Lucas”

“Lucas” the man repeated his name and Lucas suddenly felt weak in his knees. “Nice to meet you, Lucas. I’m Eliott”

1. Who is your favourite character in 2? oh god i don’t know. Dustin? I think? I hate choosing just one (1) character ugh

2. Who is your least favourite character in 1? ugh that blonde methead (I think her name was Leanne?) I absolutely couldn’t stand her

3. What is your favourite episode of 4? HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CHOOSE and should I choose AN EPISODE or should I choose A CLIP??? HOW??? 5. Who is your favourite couple in 3? well berlin and palermo aka bros being bros sans ambiguité (though they were both complete sexists and i hated them for that but well I guess I was so excited about the flashbacks that I ignored it in the end)

7. What is your favourite episode of 1? i honestly don’t remember all the episodes from previous seasons so well so I’m just gonna go with 7x12 cause it was amazing even though it left me emotionally drained and depressed
