so…i wanna ask why akiba 1) has no shirt 2) has no shoes and 3) has a womb tattoo?? from what i understand womb tattoos on men specifically are usually for erotic purposes, and that’s fine but i don’t think that should be on a 17 year old. i gave him a more traditional archer outfit and included some tiger patterns
i actually didn’t have many problems with his backstory or role in the story, i would just give him more screen time. on that note, i really liked his death scene and it was genuinely devastating to see right after that gut wrenching line delivery of it being too late… so im gonna say that the earlier victims and killers (specifically chapters 1-2) should have had more screen time especially in their respective chapters, as from what i’ve heard they didn’t have that much. also overall (and this goes for all fangans) imo everybody that dies needs to have some impact on the story, and if they don’t they need to at least be remembered. it feels kinda unsatisfying when a character is immediately forgotten after death.
Taku Akiba was the younger brother of two sons, and had a relatively normal childhood. When he was 14, he became involved in his town's local gang and dyed his hair blonde. He later fell out of favor with the gang, but stayed in contact with one of the members who he had begun dating—he came to the realization that he was bisexual during his time in the gang. His sexuality was kept secret for a few years, until he finally came out to his brother, Junzou, when he was 17. His brother's reaction was indifferent, and Taku didn't think much of it. Until the next day, of course. His whole life turned upside down when he discovered that Junzou had outed him to their parents, and his heart almost stopped when he saw the anger behind their eyes. He was given five minutes to pack all of his belongings and leave the house. While walking, he came across one of his old gang members, and feeling pity for him, offered Taku a ride. They came to the gang's current hangout spot, and after playing some catch-up, his gang members gifted him a fourth-generation Matsuda Bongo. He was surprised by the gesture, but he accepted it and stayed in touched with them—after all, all friendship was welcome considering he had just been kicked out and possibly cut off by his own flesh and blood. For the next three years, Akiba drove around in the van taking up odd jobs and learning archery, which had become his new favorite hobby and a way to get his mind off the past. He was now far from home, but then again, where was home truly?
