With Persona 3 Reload coming out in February, I decided to embark on another (ill-advised) project! Every day leading up to the release, we'll have another character from Persona 3!!! I'm starting off working backwards through the non-player characters who are Social Links!

Akinari is a special one for me. Probably for a lot of people. His story made my heart explode, I love him so much.

the rain brought you back to me

pairing: akinari kamiki x gn!reader

summary: as you pass the shrine on a rainy day, you run into akinari and join him on his bench

it was pouring outside as you passed by the shrine. it hadn't rained this badly in months, but despite the pouring rain, there was a boy sitting on a bench near the shrine, soaking wet and staring up into the sky.

you couldn't help but stop and stare at him. before you knew it, you began walking towards him, holding your own umbrella over his head, to shield him from the rain.

as the umbrella entered his field of vision, the boy flinched and sat up straight, turning around to look at you. he seemed puzzled as to why you had offered him your umbrella. you weren't even quite sure why you had approached him, but…

“you look so… sad, sitting in the rain by yourself”

those words left your lips, almost as if to justify your actions. a fragile smile hushed over the boy's lips. seeing him smile like this, even if just for a moment, put a smile on your lips as well.

“if you'd like…” his voice was hesitant, as he spoke slowly, even pausing for a moment. “would you join me?”

you tilted your head a little, trying to understand what he meant. but there was only one thing that came to your mind…

you closed the umbrella, sitting down on the bench next to the boy. you hesitantly looked at each other, before you leaned back your head and closed your eyes, letting the rain pour down onto you. the two of you sat in silence like this, but even with your eyes closed, you knew he was still there…
