LAUREL- “Alex!!  I am so glad you made it!”

ALEX- “Congrats, Laurel.  You look beautiful.”

LAUREL- “I can not stop smiling!  I am Mrs. Elias Boedell! The happiest day of my life!”

ALEX- “And I am happy for both of you....

ALANA- “So have you heard anything from Emma?”

ALEX- “No, but she is in Oasis Springs with her aunt. Father did a locator spell to make sure she made it there okay.”

ELIAS- “In time, Alex she will understand and thank you for not marrying her.”

ALEX- “Maybe, but let’s celebrate you two!”

The day finally arrived, Elias James Boedell and Laurel Cassandra Evans soon will become husband and wife. No one had heard from Alex, so Elias didn’t know if he would even show up for the wedding. Emma had contacted Laurel and apologized to her for not being able to be there for her special day.  Of course Laurel was not upset with her, and told her she completely understood.

Bebe was excited to be the flower girl, or as she called it, Little Bride.

BEBE- “Mama, Little Bride ready can we go?”

ALANA- “In just a moment sweetheart, Uncle Elias needs to get in his place, and then you can walk up to him.”

BEBE- “Aunt Laurel was bootiefull”

ALANA- “Yes, she certainly is...

RYDER- “Look at her Alana...just think in a few years she really will be the bride, walking up the aisle to meet her own partner.”

ALANA- “That’s a long long time from now Ryder.”

BEBE- “Unlce Lias...Laurel is bootiefull!”

ELIAS- “I know, and she is going to be my wife very soon!”

RYDER- “Okay, Bebe, shhh, here she comes...”

Over on the other side of Willow Creek, Elias’ best friend, Alana had a different reality here as well. Similar to before, she was married, but not to Dan Rader, but to one of Elias’s law school friends, Ryder DeMarco. They had a comfortable home on the west side of town, and a two year old daughter, Beatrice, whom they call Bebe.

RYDER- “So are we still going over to Eli and Laurel’s for dinner tonight?”

ALANA- “Yes, the wedding is just two days away and Laurel has Bebe’s dress for the wedding. We need to make sure it fits.”

RYDER- “Hard to believe it’s here already.  So are you going to tell them our news?”

BEBE- “Dadda, Uncle Lias?”

RYDER- “Yes, we are going to see Uncle Elias, you ready sweetie?”

BEBE- “Ready!!

ALANA- “I really didn’t want to say anything to them until after the wedding and honeymoon. I don’t want to steal their thunder so to speak.”

RYDER- “Okay, I am so happy, Alana, with being named partner, and going to Oasis Springs, I will be able to give you, Bebe and this new baby everything we need.”

ALANA- “I am so proud of you Ryder. And Oasis Springs is going to be great.”

RYDER- “I know all our friends live here in Willow Creek, but---”

ALANA- “Honey, don’t worry about all that, we will still have our friends. Oasis Springs is less than an hour from here. This is what we need to do for us, and our family.”

And they are married.....

BEBE-” Laurel pretty mama!”

ALANA- “She sure is sweetie.”

MICAH- “Where is Alex? I can’t believe he didn’t show!”

ELIAS- I understand why you were upset, and I am sorry.”

ALANA- “We each have our dreams, our goals and our priorities, Eli. Mine is to get married have a beautiful family and be the best mom and wife I can be.  Yours is to see the world, learn about who you really are and help others. I can not be mad at you for following your own path. But I promise I WILL be here when you get back and will continue to support you.”

ELIAS- “That means the world to me Alana.  Come on in, I have some people I want you to meet….and to share the news about my Dad.”

As she comes further into the house she sees Dante sitting on the sofa.

ALANA- “This must be your brother, Dante, I assume?”

As Elias and Maggie are finally making a bond, the doorbell rings, and Alana steps in…..

ELIAS- “ALANA!!!  You came!”

ALANA- “You know I would.  Eli, I can not stay mad at you.  Disappointed, yeah, but can never be mad at you.”

ELIAS- “Thank you, Alana...I was worried I was going to leave and not see you until I get back.”

ALANA- “You are going clear across the world!!  Do you think I would not come and see you before you left, and congratulate you on getting your degree?  What kind of lifelong friend would I be if I had done that.”

Elias knew it was coming.  He could tell by the smug look on his face that daniel was going to let him have it.  And good reason too.  He knew what he was doing was wrong, but he had no choice.  Daniel would never understand that.  Hopefully Alana would.

DANIEL- “I knew you would do something like this to her, Eli….do you realize that you are all she has, besides her father? No siblings, no friends here, no one. She was counting on you to help her with this. And what do you do?  Once again you disappoint her because of your own selfish needs.  It’s always about you.  It is never about anyone else, is it? Who was there for you last year when you had whatever it was you had when Henry left your ass???  It was Alana. She was there for you, and what about all the other times over the course of your life??  She has always been there for you Eli, but whenever she needs you, well forget it……”

Alana has came back and looks at Eli and smiles…

ALANA- “Daniel,  stop. Listen Eli, I understand, I do, but this time I can’t accept it.  I’m sorry, but Daniel is right.  I really need you in this.  But I understand.  I don’t like it but it is what it is.  Go, do what you have to do. I will be fine. Come on Daniel, we need to go if we are going to make that car show….”

ELIAS- “Alana, please try and understand  It’s not that I want to go now, but if I don’t---

ALANA- “Please, Eli, don’t try and convince me. I get it. It’s important. So is a wedding and the birth of a baby...your god child.  But go ahead, you do what you have to.  I will see you whenever you get back.”

With that Alana turns and heads towards the door.  Of course Daniel has to rub in the guilt before he exits….

DANIEL- “Hope you are happy, Eli. All these hormones she is going through is making her even more anxious and upset.  So you just added to that. Classic Eli.  Go play with your witches.  Hope you have fun!”

ELIAS- “Well, something has come up, something big, Alana. “ (he purposely direct his conversation towards her, as he knew that Daniel was not going to be happy about being pulled away from his car show for him to disappoint Alana….and Daniel thought all this witch and magic stuff was fairytales and nonsense.)  He continued…

ELIAS- “I met my half-brother and his mom last night...and things were a little weird.”

ALANA- “Sure, I bet it was.  So how is he? Your brother?”

ELIAS- “Not sure. I mean he seemed fine. He is pretty smart, and he knows everything about our family, even things I didn’t know about.”

ALANA- “You can be forthright about everything, Elias.  I explained everything to Daniel, about how it all came down.”

DANIEL- “Pretty fucked up if you ask me.  If someone was carrying my baby and ran off, and came back thirty years later and told me about a kid I didn’t even know about, you think for a minute I would invite them over for dinner??  Oh hell no. I think they want your money Boedell.”

ELIAS- “I wish that was all it was about, but Dante is probably more well off than we are.  Anyway, Dad starting acting really strange and he and Maggie went into the library and when they came back out, Dad informed me that the two of them were going on a long weekend trip, alone to Granite falls to get to know one another again…”

ALANA- “Oh, dear, what about them possibly being----

DANIEL- “Dark witches?? Yeah, they are just after your money, I’m telling you.”

ELIAS- “(Elias ignored Daniel and looked at Alana) “I think Maggie may have cast a spell on him. I mean even today he is acting really weird.  So after they left I went over to the Goth’s and explained to Philip what transpired, and that is when I found out that, yes, Maggie is a witch, and not only did she cast a spell on my dad, but cast some kind of banishing spell on someone.”

DANIEL- “Okay, I think I need to go to the bathroom, this is getting all too “otherworldly” for me!”

Daniel gets up and leaves for the bathroom, so Elias took this opportunity to tell Alana the real reason for him calling her here.
