It's a 7.5kg pr on squats, for three lift bench a 20kg pr, and a 2.5kg lifetime pr on deads. #Repost @themusclephd with @repostapp. ・・・ Today's Muscle PhD Academy looks at a topic that everyone was interested in yesterday! Failure training, central fatigue, and volume. A lot of people asked about failure training and hypertrophy or muscle growth. The answer to your question is that there is not a sufficient amount of research that says failure training is good for hypertrophy. What I can tell you though is that volume is a key ingredient in hypertrophy. From this study we see that when failure training is used early on in the training session total volume is reduced. However, when it is used at the end of the session total volume is higher. With that being said, use failure training accordingly. The research shows that it may cause central fatigue by reducing volume. And we know that volume is key for hypertrophy.
