Pre-Power phase. Working on on the prehab to make sure I stay injury free. You can lift heavy and stay healthy if you prepare your body! Circa 2006. Vintage Iron Works Powerlifting Club original tshirt. Needed some extra old man strength today. The Armenian test day. Even a master lifter that has been lifting for 15 years can make gains from this 5 week program. Surprised myself today put on close to 25lbs on my raw squat. A month of equipment prep. Incline belly bench for anterior delt conditioning. I use a competition bench grip to be as sport and movement specific as possible. After some banded speed bench, I tossed in a couple sets of “spoto” speed bench. Stopping an inch or so from my chest. Trying to keep the bar speed consistent on the downward and pressing motions. Still working on arch gains and a stronger back to hold my position under a load. Still on the Armenian Squat Program. Feeling like I am pretty deep in the super compensation curve today. I tried to focus on taking the contraction off my legs when I sit, but still have a tight back and not let my pelvic tilt. I added Bands choked a couple times and a box.
