1. if you could sit down and finish any one of your wips without anything stopping you (time, tiredness, etc), which fic would you choose? tell us about it if you want!

okay the WILD wish would be the stupid fucking harry potter fic because that one's going to haunt me forever if i don't finish it even though my feelings have been increasingly Complicated for years and also it's massive and exhausting. but that would be so much work even for a magical me in a time bubble who never got hungry or tired.

more practically i'd really really like to get raincoats 2 out this year, and i'd LOVE like 48 hours in a time bubble to just whip that shit out. sequels are hard! but i'm committed!

7. is there a fic you wish you received feedback on, but didn't get any/much? this ask game is asking someone else to then give feedback on said fic, pretty pretty please!!!

hm, "feedback" not exactly. i don't think there's any particular fic that i've published that's gotten fewer comments than i thought it "deserved" or whatever, aside from that in general smut fic gets less engagement and i've written some of that that i'm proud of

17. are there any songs you want to write a songfic for?

i dunno! i don't think so. i rarely write fic that's inspired directly by a song, though sometimes a some becomes attached to a fic in my mind or i find one that works really well for something i'm already working on. on the other hand, "children's work" by dessa immediately popped into my head, so maybe it's time to write some Sibling Fic.

Juno Steel has done good for Mars as President Aurinko’s bodyguard, but if she doesn’t win her reelection campaign, they’ll both be out of a job. Then paparazzi photos surface of Juno kissing the Brahmese prince. It was only supposed to be a one night stand, but now the press is accusing Buddy of showing special favors to an outcast outer rim planet. Fixing Brahma’s PR would be a win for both teams, and Buddy has the solution: Juno and Nureyev have to pretend they’ve been carrying on a secret relationship for months, and create a romance so sweeping that the public forgives the ethical breach. First problem: Nureyev snuck out on Juno without even leaving his name, and Juno is maybe a little bit bitter. Second problem: Nureyev turns out to be vapid and selfish and grates on Juno’s every nerve. Third problem: Juno’s starting to suspect that the Brahman prince is hiding more than his planet’s crumbling infrastructure. Juno’s compelled to keep up the charade long enough to solve this mystery, even if his heart gets broken in the process.

1. Tell us about your WIP!

I have. So many WIPs so I’ll just talk about the one I worked on most recently. lol. The last thing I worked on was a Penumbra fic set in season 3 wherein Crime Mom Buddy who is tired of watching Juno and Peter pine over each other has a nice long chat with each of them in an attempt to get them to talk to each other.

2. Where is your favorite place to write?

At home on the couch. Public places have too many distractions, and my desk hasn’t been clean enough to use as a desk since I first moved into my current apartment. Besides, the couch is comfier than a desk chair. lol

15. How do you deal with self-doubt when writing?

Usually one of three ways. If it just feels like nothing I’m writing is turning out the way I want it, I’ll just put whatever I’m working on aside for a while and do something else, and go back to it after a few days. It usually looks better when I haven’t spent the last few hours staring at it. And if I’m just feeling bad about my writing skills in general, I’ll go and reread my old stuff that I’m proud of, and/or ask friends for positive feedback. Which sounds scary at first, but honestly getting feedback about what specific things they like about a story or wip can be really encouraging, and most people are happy to do it.

(Sorry this took me so long, btw. Mobile did a weird thing and saved it as a draft, and then refused to let me post it from there. :P)

This is me being a Big Romantic but I hope that True Love's Kiss saves the day at the end of the SC finale. My Evidence: (1) Moonlit Hermit is a Beauty and the Beast retelling (2) Quanyii said that they needed something stronger than physics to break out of prison (3) Rilla suggested a miracle (4) This SC season has been about science vs metaphor and the power of stories and emotions (5) Arum's Monster twists emotions and magnifies them (6) True love is the strongest force in the universe

I’m wondering if it’s not just True Love’s Kiss, but True Love in pretty much every sense. 

Marc and Talfryn’s brotherly love. The Keep’s parental love for Arum, and his devotion to it in return. Sir Angelo’s love for his friends. Sir Caroline’s loyalty to people who maybe possibly a little bit make her feel like she has a home with them. 

And, based on what we’ve seen with Marc and Arum, compassion for one’s fellow beings, be they human or otherwise.

A more tragic observation: I think Peter has a really hard time pulling of cons after FRP. He can’t get into character anymore, because every character he invents is still in love with Juno and that little bit of consistency damages the persona. He has to switch to burgling and more dangerous heists because it hurts to be other people now

Call me a sadist, but I really love the idea that Peter has not been coping well since his lady love walked out of his life. 

His greatest talent has always been compartmentalization, and I really like the idea that Juno got too deep under his skin for him to compartmentalize him away.
