FPM: You’re sponsored by Boz Boards and Longboard Living, but you also ride for Proto Scooters. How long have you been riding Proto Scooters? Has that helped your skating? SS: I’ve been riding for Proto Scooters for seven months. It has helped me push with my opposite foot. FPM: What are you stoked about? SS: I’m stoked about bombing down hills, slides, skate parks, green tea, slip-on Vans, filming, cruising the city, traffic-surfing, group skates, Broadway Bomb, oh, and Halal food. FPM: Halal food? Where’s your favorite Halal place? SS: I like Halal food…it has great spices and flavors. The only place I like to get Halal food is on 6th Avenue between 17th and 18th Streets. I’ve tried a lot of other places and this one is the best...not too much spice and no chicken fat. FPM: Where is your favorite spot to skate? SS: My favorite place to ride is Chelsea Piers skate park. Everyone just looks at me like I’m crazy riding my 41-inch board there. I think the board is perfect for those big ramps. FPM: Do you ever listen to music while you’re skating? What are some of your favorite bands? SS: I used to listen to music while cruising in Central Park, but never riding in traffic! You have to be very focused and aware of your surroundings while traffic-surfing. I like to skate to a lot of hard-style and electro beats because it’s so fast paced that I end up following the bass beat with my feet and fly away. Besides that I listen to a lot of rock and roll.
