Besides everything happening with the Minecraft movie, people don't seem to realize that this breaks one of the monecrafts core idea that Steve shouldn't be a character but a way for players to see themselves in the world they created, that's why Minecraft story mode didn't have Steve or Alex. You can see this on the minecraft book on the internet archive, i am lazy to find the link tho.

This movie is going to be so shit.
