UMBRA - OROBOROS (REMIXES)

Released in 2013, "Oroboros" was Umbra's second release. 

2 years later, this intro EP into Umbra's melodic side gets remixed by estabilished talents and newcomers to the scene. Alex FX slows and twists "The Throb" into a real ambient acid trip. 808's and 303's define the groove, while echoed stabs fill in the spaces; a balance between subby kicks in a broken pattern and long reverbs make this remix a delightfull 11 minutes experience.

Alex FX's label partner REVERB brings "Oroboros" to a more stable ground, speeding up the track while breaking the tempo in half with a third beat snare. Bits and pieces from the original mash together with dissonant arpeggios and stabs, imprinting a chaotic feel to the track.

Naus breaksdown "Oroboros" with his signature punchy sound, taking cues from the original's percussion track and adding a somewhat lost and acidic melody line ping-ponged between speakers, while an eerie atmospheric pad sticks everything together.

Kadenz brings the original to a more loopy feel with his groove-focused reinterpretation of "Oroboros", clashing the original track with a denser and dragged rhythm on top of a very subtle acid bassline, adding much appreciated sub-bass frequencies to spectrum.

Newcomer MOSSA takes "The Throb" and delivers something completely different from the rest of the pack. This clappy, pitched-down vocal driven remix fights your speakers ability to cope with the groove, while a punchy kick gets your hand on the volume rocker to turn up the sound.
