About Aphrodite and Hephaestus being together.
Unless we're going on hyper specific surviving stories that involve Aphrodite and Hephaestus being together in a way that doesn't imply disdain or disgust. They don't belong together...I wish I had something more clever but for every story that implies that they tolerate each other there's half a dozen stories in which she clearly loves someone else (whether it's Adonis or Ares). And it does bug me that people often try to make Aphrodite someone she's not, a shallow vindictive bitch who owns being that and forget Hephaestus already moved on and got another wife (after cursing Harmonia) named Algaea who's everything Hephaestus x Aphrodite shippers think Aphrodite is by virtue of being a Goddess of Beauty, Grace, and Charity.
But then I thought...what if Aphrodite decided to make Algaea date Hephaestus and break his heart again as punishment for that net and for what he did to Harmonia but then Hephaestus turns out to be really regretful for what he did to Harmonia and humiliating Aphrodite in that net incident and Algaea can't find it in her to break Hephaestus's heart and in a twist of fate they ironically fell genuinely in love leaving Aphrodite powerless to do anything since it's been established not even she can break up true love as Eros II and Psyche proved.
See? That's a story where the poor misunderstood smith god gets the beauty after being dismissed by others for being fugly as opposed to rewriting Aphrodite to be something she's not and as a bonus, you get more stories about Algaea.
