L’entrevista és de 1983, el dia abans de complir 100 anys. L’Isabeta era una dona algueresa, de manera que parla en dialecte alguerès de la llengua catalana. El periodista que l’entrevista parla en italià quan es dirigeix a la càmera però en català alguerès quan parla amb l’Isabeta, que sembla que no parlava italià, a diferència de la filla que sí que el parla.
M’ha semblat interessant compartir aquest vídeo pel gran valor històric que té sentir com es parlava el català (alguerès) de mà de qui el va aprendre al segle XIX.

Sabies que a Itàlia només hi ha una biblioteca dedicada a obres en català? És la Biblioteca Catalana de l'Alguer, fundada el 1988 i que des de 2014 ha reduït la seva activitat per la manca de finançament.
L'edifici actual de la Biblioteca Catalana de l'Alguer no té les condicions adients per recuperar la seva activitat i per això, amb els diners que es recaptin, s'eliminaran les barreres arquitectòniques, es renovaran les instal·lacions, se'n millorarà la il·luminació i la climatització per a la cura dels llibres i es tornarà a oferir un espai de trobada per a la llengua i la cultura catalana a l'Alguer.
Què hi volem fer?
Volem modernitzar l'estructura de la biblioteca, millorar-ne el servei i crear xarxes socials per difondre'n l'activitat. L'objectiu és que la biblioteca pugui tornar a convertir-se en el punt de reunió, de coneixença i d'estudi que sempre ha estat per als algueresos.
És fonamental tornar a oferir un espai que permeti als algueresos practicar la seva llengua i, sobretot, acostar la cultura i l'alguerès als més joves. És per això que amb les aportacions també es reprendran iniciatives culturals i activitats de sensibilització com ara presentacions de llibres, grups de lectura, debats, cursos, tallers, etc., per promocionar la llengua catalana.
El teu gest es veurà reconegut!
Les persones que contribueixin a finançar el projecte podran tenir dins de la biblioteca una placa amb el seu nom i cognoms i el nom de la seva localitat. Entre totes les plaques es configurarà un mural simbòlic que servirà per il·lustrar la col·laboració i el treball en xarxa de tots els territoris de parla catalana en la defensa de la llengua arreu del domini lingüístic.
Fes un donatiu! Entre tots, de Salses a Guardamar i de Fraga fins a l'Alguer, salvem la Biblioteca Catalana!
English explanation
L'Alguer (in the island of Sardinia) is one of the places where Catalan is the autochthonous language where it's more threatened to disappear, and where Alguerese people have very little access to books and media in Catalan.
Since 1988, the Catalan Library of L'Alguer has been a meeting point, but since 2014 they had to reduce the activity due to lack of funding and their building doesn't have the correct conditions.
Now they ask for donations to make the building accessible, do the necessary maintenance work, get a better light and a better temperature control that doesn't harm the books, and to offer a meeting place for Alguerese people to speak their language and celebrate their culture. They also want to make social media accounts, and do more activities like book presentations, workshops, language courses, a reading club, debates, and more to bring the language closer to everyone but particularly young people.

Alghero in Sardinia, being the Catalan-speaking area most farthest away from Catalunya, how is their variant of Catalan different? I would think more similar to the Balearican variant.
We could sum up the characteristics of Alguerese in these:
It's Eastern Catalan (there's two main blocks of Catalan: Eastern and Western), closer to Eastern Catalonia
It has influence from all varieties of Catalan
It developed from the 15th century Catalan in a separate location, and after the 17th century the contact between l'Alguer and the rest of Catalan Countries faded. So Alguerese has kept characteristics of Old Catalan that were lost in the rest of territories, so it often sounds "ancient" to the rest of Catalan speakers
It has influence from Sardinian and Italian
Alguerese people descend from people who came from Eastern Catalonia (areas between Tarragona and Barcelona) in the late Middle Ages, for this reason the "base" of Alguerese Catalan is the Central Catalan of the 14th-15th centuries.
Until the 17th century, people from Catalonia (including Rosselló/Northern Catalonia), the Valencian Country and the Balearic Islands moved to l'Alguer, so in some ways Alguerese mixes characteristics of the different variants. But after that, it stopped having close relations with the rest of Catalan-speaking countries.
For this reason, they still use some words that seem "ancient" to other Catalan speakers, because we don't use them anymore but they do.
For example, in Alguerese the masculine singular article is "lo" (like in Medieval Catalan), while in most of the other Catalan-speaking countries it's "el", though in Western Catalonia they also use "lo" (check a map of that in this post). The same happens with words.
And of course after that, there's the Italian influence. It's quite noticeable in the accent of most Alguerese Catalan speakers (though some more than others).
Besides a few words though, we can understand each other without trouble. From time to time, there might be a word that's different (like in any other dialect), but in general it's not difficult. If you're not used to the accent, at first it might seem confusing, but very quickly you get used to it and there isn't problem to understand each other.
