Does anyone else tear up when you get to the part in Invader where Algini comes home from the hospital and we find out he took a detour back to Malguri just so he could pick up Bren's luggage for him? That his priority was not getting himself back to his Unit, to safety, but making sure Bren was reunited with the only possessions he had in their world? The favorite sweater, the treasured hairbrush, the photos of his beloved family? And when Bren thanks him, Algini simply replies that it's his job to do that? Omg, these books have some of the most heartfelt character interactions.
