If Klance were aliens, what would their alien names be...?
CW: slight body horror, snakes
Lance was never human. Not fully, at least. His mother was and Lance would spend every single day of his life believing and knowing she was the most beautiful woman to ever exist. Not even Allura could change his mind about that.
It was Lances father that made him so special. For the first eight years of his life, Lance thought they were just every day folk, until him and his father we on a walk and got cornered by a dozen native wolves. The panic when his father got bit was what caused Lance’s body to shift and change, causing pain that caused such a horrific scream from him that the animals fled. His lower body twisted and snap, burn and rippled and stretched until it finally settled after a near full hour.
The whole time his father sat by him the entire time, holding his hand as it too bend around and telling him it was going to be okay and to not fight it.
Lance proceed his fathers change before his own. Where once he was a man, his father now had the lower body of a viper. Travelling several meters was a soft green scaled tail that twisted around to make a sort of bed for Lance to rest on. His face had shifted to be partially scaled, teeth turned to sharp fangs and eyes wide and slit.
Lance didn’t have time to be confused as fear set in when he saw that his body now mirrored his father.
His tail was so similar to his fathers, only darker and shorter. It twisted around like it was it’s own being, seperate from Lance but that wasn’t possible, as Lance was quickly forced to accept.
His mother helped him as he adjusted to his new life, holding him with all her love as he gradually got used to his body shifting and the pain lessened and lessened. It never fully left, but when he discovered that he could swim in the water like the mermaids he adored, he fought his way through it.
Then he met Hunk, his first real friend, and for the first time in his life he had to hide it from someone he cared about. Strangers didn’t matter to him, not when he knew what they would do to him, but a friend?
It only got worse when he went to space. He wanted so badly to tell everyone, to show what he was, but he couldn’t even blame his secrecy on his fear of rejection. It was the home sickness and the way no one else seemed to care enough about it to talk about it like he wished to. Having his natural form of a serpent was the only thing he seemed to be able to keep to himself without fear of it being brushed of.
He knew it was selfish, that his second form was dangerous and could be so useful for the war, but he wanted it to be his own. He didn’t want to be a weapon, a tool or pet, he was a person. It was hard enough being a soldier when he at most wanted to be a sniper or just a pilot.
Plus, his friends accept aliens and we’re able to process that they exist, but something like him being on earth? Why would they accept a freaky snake monster like him.
Super hero!shiro and civilian Lance
Or vigilante!Kuron and civilian lance
Or...what about...both of those! And then a little something else! Cause I was inspired and I wanted to so this as a fic!
The Heroes and the Civilian:
“It’s just a coincidence.” Shiro sighed out for like the fifth time that night.
“That’s bullshit and you know it.” Kuro hissed slighted as he leaned forward from across the table. He winced a little but at the movement aggravated some healing bruise he had somewhere. “Eight out of twelve times is not a coincidence.”
“It could be.” Shiro countered weakly.

Under the Moonlight by Helpmelearntofly (1/3 | 1,619 | General)
Keith always looked up at the sky, hoping to find an answer that he knows he'll never find. The stars soothe him, the moon comforts him, the endless expansion of the universe consoles him. If only the world just beyond his reach could help him now.

The Lions of Voltron are searching for their new Paladins. It was going fine until the Blue Lion gave Allura the name of an elusive, untrusting species that would be almost impossible to track down.

The Castle of Lions stop by a planet named Drakma to form an alliance. The local Drakonians seem friendly enough, in fact they look very similar to humans (minus the sharp canines and bird legs). But what happens when the Drakonians make a request in return for making an alliance with Voltron? Their request: save a group of Drakonians who were enslaved by the Galra.
Lance: friend Hunk I do not understand what I have done wrong

Lance: f-friend Hunk
Hunk: DONT! Call me that! I’m not your friend
Lance: This is not you... somthing is wrong and I will discover what

How will the team react when they find out Lance may not be as human as they thought he was?
(Read it below or on AO3 here!)
Lance’s mother had always told him and his siblings of the Haepuyx people. These were the aliens who forced their family off their home planet. They were the reason Lance has lived on Earth for most of his live. She described them as very tall, lanky beings with four arms and pale skin colors of green, blue, and purple. Lance’s family were of the Vypsalae people, who are kind of like a mix between humans, fish, and birds. They have scales scattered across their cheeks, arms, legs, and back. In the center of their back lies a pair of wings to match their hair color, and their ears are longer and more pointed than those of a human.
As soon as a day after arriving on Earth, he was warned to shapeshift his body to look like all the others on this strange new planet. When he asked why he wasn’t allowed to look like himself, he was told that “humans just wouldn’t understand.” This seemed to be the answer to all of his questions about their new home.
Lance was only ten when he was forced to leave his home and friends of Vypsalae. He was so frightened that day, and all he could remember was the fire, explosions, and yelling. There was so much noise.
The only thing his mother would tell him of that day was that his father didn’t make it.

Chapter Title: Life Lived, Life Lost
Summary: Planet Earth has been colonized by the Souls, a parasitic, alien race that wipes the minds of their hosts and takes on their lives. Most of mankind have been erased, but a few still live in hiding, struggling to survive. Lance knows this because he was one once- that is, until he is captured by Seekers and a Soul implanted in his body.
But were does the Soul begin and Lance end.
Read it on FF and AO3!
Lance is born on a sunny day in July.
The time reads 2:48, but Lance has no conception of time and what it means to have it. In fact, there is very little Lance understands.
Beyond the distinction of dark and light, nothing sticks long enough to permit deep thought. Both his mind and body are new to this world, not yet accustomed nor learned in the ways of living, and it is only thanks to intrinsic feeling alone that he takes his first breath of air- a shuddering thing that has the room at large breathing their own sigh of relief. But even that reaction, rooted in love for him and hope for the life he has yet to live, is too much to handle. It is sudden and loud and new, and Lance, as small as he is, can't even think to understand, so Lance does the only thing he knows how.
He cries.
He cries and cries and cries. He cries until his lungs burn and that makes him cry some more. It's exhausting work, being unhappy. For all that he’s been alive- a whopping three minutes and seventeen seconds- he finds that he doesn’t like this feeling. He wants something else. Something more. Something better.
A touch brushes across his cheek, piercing wail hiccuping in surprise as his eyes squint open to the best of their ability. A blob comes into somewhat focus, accompanying the muffled sound that sweeps in a waltz around him, a faint murmur of sorts. It's... nice. He likes this, he decides then and there, he likes this very much. It soothes him, pushing away the unknown until this is all feels. Contentment. And it’s then, swaddled up in blankets and the loving curve of his mother’s arms, that he slips into his first sleep.
And so it begins.
