What ever happened to Shaw anyway?

The Crossing, an official prologue short to Alien: Covenant, reveals what happened to crew members Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and the synthetic David after the events of Prometheus. Set aboard an abandoned Engineer vessel, Dr. Shaw repairs David as they continue their search for humanity’s creators.

As a Huge fan of the Alien franchise and a big fan of Prometheus, I was quite intrigued when Ridley Scott announced we would be getting a sequel to Prometheus as well as furthering the connection to Alien. I loved how Prometheus stood on it's own two feet building on it's own mythology, however in this case this movie felt muddled. Both a sequel to Prometheus and a prequel to alien. The Prometheus storyline with shaw was cut short and its resolution disappointingly offscreen. Heavy studio interference yet again is rampant here There are aspects of the movie I did enjoy, the neomorphs, david and Walter's interactions played expertly by Michael Fassbender. The first chestburster scene was a true highlight. The alien introduction altered the mythos and felt thrown in last minute. The alien itself its design is timeless but it works perfectly in th darkness,whereas this is out open in the day. The characters are alright but you know they are fodder. I wanted to like this more than I did.
