Aliisza and Kael (her son with Pharaun if you can believe that! he even gets a cameo) in the Empyrean Odyssey Trilogy. A pretty enjoyable series overall, I really liked Aliisza. Started thinking about Never Love an Anchor by the Cranewives and had to go sit down....i wonder if Kael is in any other books....
