The word "Qalb" (قلب), which means "heart," derives from the word "Yataqallab" (يتقلب), which roughly translates to "something that changes rapidly." Don't our hearts change constantly? "What we love today could be something we hate tomorrow."

La commune d’Alizay, dans l’Eure, compte deux monuments aux morts : un monument traditionnel rappelant les noms des morts pour la France lors de la Première et de la Seconde guerre mondiale, et un monument contemporain, pour la paix, que vous pouvez voir sur ces photographies. Il a été réalisé par le sculpteur Georges SAULTERRE (né en 1943).
Ce monument est composé d’un ensemble de sculptures d’environ 1m60 à 2m de hauteur en granit beige, se dressant sur un socle en granit noir. Au-dessus des personnages, des oiseaux en acier volent et représentent la liberté.
A proximité du monument, on peut lire cette citation d’Aimé Césaire :
“Ma bouche sera la bouche des malheurs qui n’ont point de bouche, ma voix la liberté de celles qui s’affaissent au cachot du désespoir.”
