#there’s definitely like a very weird trend in literary adaptations lately#of like taking characters who problematic but still sympathetic and like erasing#all their problematic bits#and yeah as much I love it GDT’s Frankenstein does sorta fall into this too#let characters be problematic#let them have messy interactions with their trauma#very often that is the point#like literally the point of all three novels#we make monsters then punish them#for what WE did#so very ooc
