i saw a few comments on a sweetvee post, most of them are positive but there are some negative saying that “he’s too good for her and she’ll just use him” people are so quick to villainies V, doesnt matter how hard she tries to do good and what’s right, people will always try to find a flaw in her like none of these characters are perfect most of them has done some problematic shit.

I agree – I don’t know why there’s such heavy Veronica hate in the fandom. Let’s face it, folks: All of our faves are problematic from time to time. It’s what makes them human. 

Let me say it again – it’s what makes them human.

Honestly, I’d be more annoyed by a character painted as perfect, which I don’t think applies to any of the characters because they’ve all done something that’s made me roll my eyes or question their judgment. But it’s why we love this show and the people in it – they have flaws and that’s completely acceptable. 

As far as the SweetVee hate goes, I really don’t get where this is coming from. I’ve never, in my entire time writing for SweetVee, forced anyone to read SweetVee or like SweetVee. If you’re following my blog, you know 95% of the content I share is SweetVee related. It’s one of the only things keeping me tied to this fandom, so I’m not going to be dropping it anytime soon. I’ve seen people post about being anti-SweetVee, laughing and saying they’re waiting for the boos. Well….. I’ve never booed you. And I won’t. You’re only making yourself look like a pot stirrer so……. I don’t know what to say to that. 

I’m not here for drama. Ship and let ship. You don’t like my ship? That’s totally fine. I think it’s amusing some people think they’re going to get hate for not liking SweetVee. They won’t from me, the actual creator of the ship. Honestly, if you don’t like them, I don’t think about that. I’m too busy focused on enjoying my SweetVee family and enjoying the reason why I’ve stuck around through the shitty times in this fandom. I’m not concerned or bothered by useless and unnecessary hate. My time is better spent so… sorry. If someone is looking for drama, they won’t get it from me.

You cannot say you love complex, complicated characters and then get pissed when they do things that aren’t 100% pure.

Part of being a complex person/character is doing shitty things sometimes. Characters mess up and make bad decisions and are bad people sometimes. Just like people. Let characters be fleshed out and have flaws. Sometimes they grows, sometimes they don’t, sometimes they get a full villain arc.

But let them be more than a Cinnamon Roll Gary/Mary Sue.

And remember liking a character doesn’t equal condoning their actions.

Neither is writing them for that matter but that’s another post.
